The hotelboat is located in the center of Amsterdam, on a quiet spot close to the Central Train Station.

The ship has a sun-deck with a beautiful views over the harbour and city. We have 16 double rooms and one 4 bedded room, all with shared bathrooms. Bed-linen and towels are included. On board we serve an excellent breakfast.

The friendly crew can provide a lot of information about the city. Bike rental is close by.

The common room is authentic and airconditioned. Free coffee and tea. Check in is possible from 12 a.m. until 23.00 p.m. There is no curfew.

You pay for the room on arrival, but it is cash only.

Staying on the Amsterdam Hotelboat was quite a unique experience. Located a short 10 minute walk from Central Station, it was very convenient for accessing the heart of Amsterdam. We did not arrive until 11:30 in the evening, and the owner was waiting to welcome us.

The room itself was tiny. The smallest one we had during our travels throughout Europe. Barely enough floor space to put our luggage, so keep that in mind if you are traveling with lots of bags. There was a small sink & mirror in the room, which was helpful. We did not use the shower facilities, but they looked clean and well maintained. Don't worry about the boat being on the water, as it did not move, and so no need to be concerned about seasickness.

Unfortunately we were exhausted after staying up late, so we missed the breakfast, which I'm sure was good. Prior reviews stated that smoking was allowed on the deck, but a new family friendly policy now forbids it, which was a slight letdown. Plenty of places to do that in Amsterdam though, thus it was not a deal breaker.

Given the location and price, it was a good value for Amsterdam.

Very cute hotel, small place but very confortable. The location is very good, specially because is very close to the central bus and train station.
The breakfast is great, great value! Although the showers and toilets are out of the room, they are clean and there is a lot of hot water.
Very friendly staff.

Very reasonably priced accommodation for Amsterdam!

You get what you pay for, i.e. the room was exceedingly small, but clean and comfortable enough. Shared toilet and shower facilities were basic but clean. Breakfast included was very good. Location was ok, nearish central station, but not in a majorly picturesque area, lots of building work going on. The only flaw to this accommodation was that it is majorly noisy, even with ear plugs you can hear conversations of the people next door to you, bang bang bang thump of doors people/children running about at 7am.

I would stay here again for one or two nights, as its very reasonably priced, nice friendly staff.

Friendly staff, nice and quiet location with a nice view. But if you stay there, rent a bike (which is easy in Amsterdam) as you will walk 10 min. to the central station.
To the rooms, they are very small and you can hear your every movement in the boat.
But for 2 - 3 nights on low budget it is absoluty ok!
Bathrooms, well they were clean, but maybe it was just not my cup of tea to be in a humid and all wet bathroom on a boat...
Nice breakfast, with juice, coffee, tea and toasts, different cheeses & hams.

We drove from Kent, UK to Amsterdam and wanted sommewhere easily accessible by tram so we could park the car at the P&R at Olympich Stadion. The reviews for Amsterdam Hotelboat looked really good and prices very reasonable so we thought we'd give it a try. Hertzen and Neeltje, the owners, couldn't have been more welcoming; we arrived at 4pm and Hertzen promptly gave us a map of the town and showed us where all the attractions are.
Neeltje was busy cleaning the cabins (they are small, but then it is a boat!) and wasn't in the least put out when we arrived early and wanted showers (which were sparkling... and powerful!). The cabin was plenty big enough for the two of us; we're not small and there was room for us both to stand up at the same time. The cabin was unbelievably clean and there was a wash basin in there and a small wardrobe - everything you could need. The second night was a bit noisy for a while as the last people arrived home, but Hertzen had made it clear that people should be as quiet as possible after midnight, and everyone seemed to try to keep this rule.
Breakfast was fantastic; Neeltje and Hertzen kept replenishing everything as it ran out, and there was plenty of tea, coffee, orange juice, to wash down the cereal, yoghurt, bread, cheeses and cold meats on offer. Altogether a fantastic wee hotel with the most friendly and attentive hosts. Thanks guys :o)

The hotelboat was a great experience, it was close enough to the center, especially if you rent a bike. The hosts were great and the boat extremely clean and lovely, the only trouble was the sound, you can virtually hear anything moving in the boat (though it was big enough for 36 people) so I recommend EAR PLUGS. Honestly, if you eliminate the sound problem you realize the hotelboat is really great value for money.

Genuinely friendly and helpful hosts without being overbearing or heavy handed with rules, the Hotelboat is perfect for a short two or three night stay. Very clean, a varied choice of breakfast foods (buffet self service style), boiled eggs, cereals, coffee, toast, cold meats, cheese, orange juice etc until 10am. The deck has benches and tables if you want to sit outside. Bring your own towels, but if you forget they'll give you one or two no problem. Bear in mind that since it's a boat the rooms are small, and expect the sound isolation not to be as good as solid brick walls, so if you're a very light sleeper ear plugs may be a good idea - but then again, who comes to Amsterdam to sleep?! Overall, a definite recommendation.
