Very friendly and welcoming staff. Location is great! The hostel and facilities (bathrooms, bedding, kitchen etc) are very clean. Would be better if there were a few more toilets... Generally, a very enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend it!

About The Yellow House
We now have a Games Room! Arm yourself with a free glass of Sangria and go down into our Games-Room-cum-Internet-hub-cum-Chill-Space. Electronic darts, table footy, library, board games, Cable TV - it's all there for you to while away the hours when you're not exploring the wonderful city of Porto.
If you don't fancy being inside then our gorgeous garden space is there to fully enjoy - read, relax, drink, meet new friends, use the free WiFI.

The Yellow House Hostel is one of Porto's best backpackers and tourist destinations. Right in the heart of downtown Porto this four storey town house provides classy, comfortable and affordable accommodation.
Relax, meet and party in the house or sit in the beautiful gardens that spill out from the back of the house. Surf the net in your room for free or the waves that pound the beaches of Porto and Gaia or walk out and discover the joys of Portos nightlife - it's all there on the doorstep. As of September Porto is one of the recognised spots in Europe for Surfing and Bodyboarding and as the flights get cheaper the surfing gets better. We can hook you up with our partners at Ridethelements.com for lessons for those who need them and equipment for those who don't at very low rates.
At the Yellow House we hope that our guests will enjoy the space and not want to leave!. The house has an unique atmosphere and we want you to add to that. It's friendly, warm and relaxed, a place to wind down and wind up!
We have 6 rooms to choose from:
2 double or private rooms,
2 mixed dorms for 6 with balconies and seperate WC's and 2 further dorms for 8 which also work well for families.
We have 6 showers and 7 WC's in total.
The lounge is really comfortable with Free WiFi, cable TV with good movie and sports channels for football obsessives, books, games, stereo and iPod docking station.
Our kitchen has everything you'll need to store and cook - it's the centre of the house and has seating for 8 around a big old table going on to the garden where you can lie on the grass or sway in a hammock in the shade. Take a book, put your headphones in and get some sun!
Please note that due to new regulations with Visa & Mastercard this hostel requires the 3 digit security from the back of your credit card ! Please contact us if you have any questions.

Please pay with card or cash on arrival.
Check out 11.30 pm.
*If you wish to leave your bags and use Hostel facilities after check out time we charge a 5 fee per person.
If you decide to stay those extra hours you can use everything but not the bed....so you will be able upon 5 payment to use the kitchen , showers, garden, games, TV, computers and free WiFi......
Check in after 14.00 pm until 11.30 pm.
If your arrival time is after 11.30 pm please contact the hostel.
Breakfast 8.30am to 10.30am.
We operate a strict no smoking policy but for those who do smoke we have a large and beautiful garden.

Excellent location, great value for money

We spent only one night at The Yellow House,but place has good location,within walking distance from the centre.The price is very good and includes breakfast in the morning.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull,gave us lots of tips,what to see and where to go.

it was really nice
We thouroughly enjoyed our two nights stay at The Yellow House Hostel. For the amount you pay it has great facilities, fun and friendly staff and excellent location. After spending two nights there we were keen to stay on for New Years but had already booked accommodation prior. It is a great place to stay and I would recommend it to any backpacker.

We were a group of young people and this was a perfect place to stay. It's located near the city centre and there are buses and a metro station, so you can go everywhere you want.
