You will not find any bunk beds in our rooms instead we offer you super comfy beds. Our newly decorated boutique lounge with bar and book exchange invites you to relax after a day of sightseeing. We have just opened our very own german restaurant 'Grand Ma`s' which offers a varity of delicious and traditional german food. Of course every morning a large breakfast buffet and all the things travellers need...We are situated in trendy Kreuzberg in the heart of Central Berlin. The famous Bergmannstrasse with its bars, cafes and restaurants is only a 10-minutes walk away. Grand Hostel? Yes, it is. You will find yourself in a place where you wonder whether it is a small hotel or a hostel. It is a nice and very clean in the "Gründerzeit" built house with high ceiliings and a well furnitured lobby where you can get delicious "all u can eat" breakfast for 6,50€. Located close to one of Europe's best kebap places, historical sights and a metro station you can reach everything from here on quite easily. The young friendly and multilingual hosts will give you a map and a lot of ideas where to start from and what to do! We booked a double room and had a little surprise on our pillows... We visited Berlin during Berlinale so we paid a little bit more than usual, but still totally worth it!!

Brilliant place to stay. My boyfriend was sceptical about staying in a hostel as he'd had some bad experiences in the past. But honestly, both of us were really happy with Grand Hostel Berlin. The staff are lovely, there's a convenient bar downstairs and the rooms/washing facilities are second to none.
Would recommend this place and would definitely return.

The three of us just loved this hostel! We stayed in a private double room & a private single room (both with shared toilet/bathroom); but they have dorms as well. The price is very reasonable, I would say cheap, considering what`s on offer. The hostel is right in the heart of Berlin, clean (it`s spotless!), housed in an old refurbished building with loads of character & very modern (no keys for the doors, just a code that you input on a number panel). The rooms are really spacious, with high ceilings, extremely comfortable beds, wardrobe, table & chair. Nice & warm over the winter, & you can control the heat in your room. The Hostel has really cosy common rooms to chill out: smoking room, computer room, bar...& they serve lovely, very reasonable priced breakfast from €2, & all sorts of hot/cold drinks. It just feels like you`re sharing a big house with a bunch of friends; as you arrive, they welcome you with a cup of hot chocolate, & offer you a free Berlin map.
For me, one of the best things was the staff. So friendly & helpful, every single one of them; they`re there to advice you on anything from where to go out for a drink, what bus tours are available...anything & everything, & everyone speaks perfect english, as well as several other languages, as members of staff are from a variety of countries.
You have as well the rare choice of a late check out time, which can be arranged depending on availability, but if you`re travelling back home later in the day, like us, you can always leave your luggage safely on their "Luggage room" & collect it when you`re ready to go, as well as being welcome to hang around the hostel & use their facilities, on the day you check out. This is so useful: we got a whole extra day in Berlin after checking out, without having to worry about our luggage, etc...& even had a little rest & a coffee in one of the common rooms just before leaving to catch our plane. I will definitely be staying in this hostel next time I`m in Berlin. I mean, there`s nowhere else I`d rather be. Perfect!
