We are very close to the bus and train station.

This Guesthouse offers all the mod cons as well as a secure and safe environment for international travelers.

We have 3 private rooms with balconies with great views and our special private room wich is very big and confortable with a great viewpoint to the cathedral and a balcony, where you can seat and relax, read a book,etc

Balboas Guesthouse has a fully equipped communal kitchen, bathrooms, internet with wireless access in all the hostel, lockers, a lounge where you can relax, read books and magazines.

We offer free maps and tourist information about the city. We can manage surf lessons, surfboard rental and wet suit rentals per day.

We will be sure, to make your stay here in San Sebastian a memorable experience.

Some of the local attractions include:

40 minutes drive to two world's famous surf breaks, Hossegor and Mundaka.

1 hour to Bilbao where is the Famous Guggenheim museum .

20 minutes to France.

1 hour to Pamplona famous for "San Fermines".

We allocate people according to availability so maybe the room type you booked colud be another while arriving except on private rooms.

We are an international backpacking hostel and you must be 18+.

If you want to have good time and relax this is your guesthouse!!!

Directions

We are near the City Hall of San Sebastian, in the heart of the city two minutes walking to the beach.
If you are coming by bus, you can take the bus number 28 and get off in San Martin 25 stop (ask the driver), then take the main street "Urbieta street" our hostel is 30 seconds walking from the bus stop.
If you are coming by train you have to walk in the direction of the cathedral (you will see it). Once there, keep walking 30 seconds until the main street wich is Urbieta street, we are in number 30.

By plane:

-From Madrid there are two daily flights to San Sebastian.
-From Barcelona there is one daily. The airport is situated in Hondarribia/Fuenterrabia. From the airport you can take a bus or taxi to reach Donostia.

By train:
-From Madrid RENFE (Spanish train company) to San Sebastian.
-There are also trains from Barcelona.
-From Paris you can take the TGV to Hendaia (Hendaye), and then take the Euskotrain (20 km) to San Sebastián (Donostia).

By bus:
-From Bilbao or Pamplona better take a bus to San Sebastian (1 hour), from Pamplona "La Roncalesa company", from Bilbao "Pesa company".
-From Spanish major cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Pamplona, Valencia, Alicante, Salamanca, etc. Take "Alsa Company" or "Vibasa company".
- There is also an international service, Euro-lines, that gets you to London (22 hours including the time the Ferry takes from Dover to Calais). This service is also offered if you are coming from Paris.

By car:
-From Madrid take A-1 motorway, via Burgos and Vitoria-Gasteiz; alternatives to this road: take toll road (AP-1) between Burgos and Miranda de Ebro, and take another toll road from Vitoria upto to Durango (direction Bilbo/Bilbao). About 5 hours.
-From Barcelona take A-2 upto Zaragoza, then go to Pamplona. Even it is a good road, the alternative is to take toll road. About 6 hours.
-From Bilbao take A-8 toll road to reach San Sebastian in one hour, or take the national road (2 or 3 hours, depending on the traffic). If you are not in a hurry you can take the national road and visit different towns and villages in the Basque coast like: Orio, Zarautz, Zumaia, Getaria, Mutriku, Ondarroa, Lekeitio, Gernika, Mundaka.
-From Pamplona take A-15 and A-1 to reach San Sebastian. It is just 45 minutes-1 hour.
-From Paris take A-10 toll road till the border (via Orleans, Tours, Poitiers, Bordeaux) and A-8 toll road from the border to San Sebastian. Not paying alternatives are N-10 in France and N-I once crossing the border.
