I very nice stay at La Jungla House Hostel. Location is perfect. Rosy and his team are profesional and sympatics.
There is a nice balcony, nice kitchen, safety box...Rooms are a little bet small but for 13$ or 15$ with breakfast this hostel is a very nice place to stay in Panama City!
Good travel!

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Some of the staff are super nice but some of them???? I booked into the deluxe 8 room which to be honest is not value for money. The ac is set on a timer which switches on at 9.30pm or later. If you want to rest during the day forget it, there is no fan and it's stuffy. The biggest problem I had was the security of gear. There are no lockers!!!! And they don't offer facilities to hold large things like DSLR cameras or laptops. I was told the place is safe and that since I was staying in the delux room on a separate floor, I was given a key to access the floor which no one can enter this unless they are staying on that floor.

On different occasions there were people I know were not staying in the hostel walking in and out, leaving the central door open or unlocked. Great security.

Both balconies are smoking areas which gives you no choice but to sit and breathe in the fumes. Smoke also wafts into the central living areas during the day and into the delux bedroom on the first floor.

The location is good, the concept is good, but if you're going to charge delux prices you should cater to those who are prepared to pay more.

About La Jungla House Hostel

Why compromise when you can have it all. Fun, safety, and access to most of the city without haggling with taxi's.

Come and see what others are already talking about, come discover it first. Whether it’s a night or long term lodging, we have an amazing setup for you. Want the coldest dorm room in Panama and then come stay in the "Ice Box" an 8 person AC dorm room.

On a budget and want the minimum, got you covered with either one of our 10 person dorm rooms with fan.

Of course, if you want all the fun and don't feel like sharing a sleeping space with new friends, we've got private and semi-private options for all budgets.

Once you're here, you will make plenty of friends to share stories with, and gain a wealth of local and international knowledge.

NOTE: Security is our top priority and keeping our guest safe is what we do best. That's why we are located in a very safe area of the city, and why we have surveillance cameras as well as being greeted by friendly face outside of the building before entering La Jungla at night.

Facilities: Rooms in our lower level offer a library kitchen and a very relaxed atmosphere. 24 quiet hours, sitting room, travel information, and AC. Both dorm rooms and private rooms are available. This level has unrestricted access to the hostel penthouse level.

Penthouse level is the "tree top". We have several dorm rooms, and a few private rooms. Huge kitchen, mini bar, internet, movie area, reading room, and tons of space is what you get here at the Jungle. Of course, all our guests can dine on our "backpacker breakfast" free of charge. Other breakfasts can be purchased on request.

Location Information

Albrook Bus and Domestic Airport Terminals: Head to the University of Panama on the road called Tumba Muerto (Ricardo Alfaro), and then take the first right after campus ends. It’s easy from there...

You will see a gas station ESSO, take a left after the station, then your first right thereafter. We are located on the left hand side of the road, half way down right after Dermocenter. It’s that easy!

TAXI: Tell taxi to take you to "Hotel Las Huacas, subiendo del Casino Fiesta." We are three buildings up the hill on the same side of the road as the hotel Las Huacas. Just look for the Mirador Adventures sign and RINA on the front of the building. Find those, and you are there!

The taxi should cost $3-$4 no more. Ask the taxi to call the hostel if he cannot find it, all drivers are required to carry cell phones.
