It was pathetic. I was due to arrive 11am when the day before my booking, around 4pm I receive an email (not even a phone call) that my booking has been cancelled!!
This is completely wrong to have people have who have based their holiday on the accommodation (location and date) to find new accommodation the afternoon before our arrival.
Had we cancelled the day before our arrival, we would have been charged the first night accommodation. However, when it was the other way around, the hotel cancelling our booking, I only get an email.
I would have expected for the Times Hostel to i) call me informing of the cancellation and ii) to arrange for nearby hostel to honor our booking for the price we had already agreed on.

*** FROM THE AIRPORT ***
By Public Bus :
The cheapest way to The Times Hostel from the airport is the 16A bus, get off on D'olier Street (the stop after O'Connell Street). The hostel is on the opposite side of the road just past the pedestrian lights. The fare is approximately 2.20 and you will need coins (notes are NOT excepted).
The Times Hostel is on the corner of College Street and D'olier Street. The bus trip should take about 30-45 minutes.
By Airlink Direct Bus :
The Airlink Bus No. 747 and 748 is a quick way to and from the Dublin Airport from the City Centre. This bus will only stop @ dedicated Airlink bus stops. You can buy the tickets from the bus driver.
Get off @ O'Connell Street, make sure you are on the south side of O'Connell Bridge and ahead will be D'olier Street. We are on the Corner of College Street and D'olier Street. The trip takes 30-45 minutes.
By Express AirCoach Bus :
Also available is the express Aircoach bus, which offers service at all times during the day between Dublin Airport and the city. You can buy an Aircoach bus ticket from either the Aircoach representative or from the Aircoach bus driver. The Aircoach stops at Trinity College, which is very close to The Times Hostel. Follow College Street for one hundred metres and you will see The Times Hostel on the left. The cost of this journey will be between 7 one way & 14 return.
By Taxi :
Taxis from the airport take about 25 minutes and cost about 20-30. During rush hour a taxi from the airport can take up to 50 minutes.
*** FROM HEUSTON STATION ***
By Tram (LUAS) :
Get on the Luas (tram) @ Heuston Station and go to Abbey Street Luas Stop. Walk back to find O'Connell Street and turn left and walk towards O'Connell Bridge.
Straight ahead of you will be D'olier Street. The Times Hostel is located on the corner of D'olier Street and College Street, on the right side.
