I was pleasantly surprised by this hostel! Very clean, great breakfast, nice beds and friendly stuff. The showers were very comfortable and the lounge one of the best I have seen. It's also situated at a very convenient place. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again and recommend it to anybody.

I must say that this is one of the worst hostel experiences I have ever had in the past decade.
It is a new hostel and the rooms are comparatively in a good condition. However, the staff with whom I interacted (there were 3 very young Turkish staff) were apallingly unwelcoming, unfriendly, rude and even hostile.
I booked this hostel through internet, but initially the staff without even checking properly by computer told me that he was not finding my name in the list and that I had never booked for the hostel. Luckily I had a reservation confirmation on my mobile, which finally made them admit that I booked the place.
Whenever you greet, the staff will not reply back to you. All the staff were male staff, and they made exception in their grumpy attitudes for female travellors. I would not mind whatever the staff have intension at their work, but it was simply not pleasant to observe obvious differentiation.
It was not once or twice but most of the time that whatever I inquired, they answered rudely or ignored. Once I asked one of the staff what is all about their grumpy attitudes. The staff swore at me and told me very unkind words that I would not even reveal here. One of the things he told me was that I am pointing it out because I am attracted to him. (I am a man and I am not gay). The staff was profoundly arrogant and malicius, I must say.
As a conclusion, in my opinion, Agora Hotel and Guesthouse has nothing to do with the spirits of international travellors in search of good mood and new friends. The style of the hostel is rather institutional and spartan, but also rude and even insulting.
I strongly recommend you not to opt for this hostile place to spoil your stay in Istanbul.
Have a wonderful trip to all!
