Budget Accommodation Europe Portugal Porto Budget Hotels Hotel Rex
Good place to stay! Nice, clean and overall good value for money. Our room also had a nice view over the city, and we were very happy with the free parking facility.
Centrally located at Praça da República, this residencial represents one of Porto's best budget accommodation options.
The charm of the Residencial Rex has been well preserved to showcase its ornate architectural details, such as the elaborately carved wooden banister. High ceilings give the rooms spaciousness and airiness, allowing for a very pleasant environment in which to rest your head after a day of exploring the city's streets. When you awake, you can enjoy our excellent buffet.
Every important spot within the city is within walking distance, such as the pharmacy, supermarket, cafes, restaurants, metro station, bus , taxi, and post office. Should you be touring Portugal by car, we offer secure parking €5
Residencial Rex offers 20 rooms with private and complete bathroom, cable tv, some with air conditioning, direct phone, bar, laundry and parking €5 per day

This is a Trusted Review. Why?
The hotel location was fine. Not very close to the downtown. A 20 min walk downhill to go to the river front. We were offered a room right in front of the reception which is a very inconvenient place as people walk in and out all the time. The room at first site looks clean, though a little small. But the biggest shock was the bed. The mattress was of worst quality. The bed was creaking at the slightest movement and the pillows were extremely uncomfortable. At some point at night my boyfriend went to sleep on the floor and slept better! Before, leaving we went to check out some other rooms and the bed was much better there. So, if you go there avoid the two rooms on the ground floor.
Breakfast was very very basic. The people at the reception were helpful and nice and also the ladies serving breakfast were very pleasant, though they didn't understand any English. Parking space is provided at a price. But is still a great convenience in Porto.
Its not a place to relax as such, just to spend the night. I would have expected better for this price in Portugal.
Good place to stay! Nice, clean and overall good value for money. Our room also had a nice view over the city, and we were very happy with the free parking facility.
