Once you are in Amsterdam for a short or a long period, you will need a quiet, clean and friendly place to stay in.

Of course, we’re located near to the main spots of Amsterdam (a central location), but still away from noisy streets. We’re located near to Amsterdam zoo and the green heart of Amsterdam; it’s nice, calm, and easy to reach most of the visitors’ sites by walking or public transportation. We’re also surrounded by grocery stores, restaurants(Italian, Asian and Turkish), coffee shops, bars and cafes.

We promise that we do our best to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Hostel Centraal is very cheap, so you can not expect much more. The breakfast was normal and the employees were very friendly. Very uncomplicated!! I would recommend it =)

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Great hostel. Two guys that run the place where such good people. They have a cute cat floating around which adds alot of character to the place too. Ensuite in my room which made it feel more homely than alot of 'normal' hostels do. Very clean, no bad smells and comfly beds.
Thumbs up

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

We did not see the hotel. When we arrived the person who was at the counter told us that our reservation had been canceled for failure in the credit card payment, he told us that he had sent several emails to let us know, but when checked, we had only received one last night. we stayed in the street, and when we return to Spain, we found that the payment had been done, and therefore we had to cancel.
I do not recommend it, they tried to cheat us.

Just returned from a weekend here...have stayed at alot of hostels in Amsterdam (approx 20) and this is by far the worst place I have ever been to...photos on the website are VERY misleading. Rooms are tiny, even in comparison to the average Amsterdam hostel, these are small!!! All the mattresses in our room (4 beds) were the wrong size for the bed frame, way too small of course! TV was missing, just a broken cable hanging out the wall. Walls were covered in loose cables hanging out where the the wall lights were supposed to be. one dim bulb in the ceiling meant the room was just dark! Toilet flush panel missing so we had to reach into a dark hole in the wall to pull the plunger directly! Location is terrrible, they are charging the same price as centrally located hostels but they are a 15 min tram ride from the center of town... No towels in the room, asked for towels, told there was a deposit (for each towel!) and was then given towels the LITERALLY size of an open magazine!! Handed in towels at end of stay and was told 'only then' what I should have been told in advance that there was a charge to wash them, so no deposit given back! Deposit to be paid on the crummy disposable plastic room key....Manager generally rude and thinks that 'this is only a hostel' is a suitable answer for stuff being broken or missing or dangerous! Trust me - you can book better than this closer to town...local inspectors need to check up on this place!!!

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Hostel Centraal is a little bit outside of the city centre, but it is right next to the tram stop. So you have the advantages of being in the middle of a city AND have some peace and quiet at night so you can rest. The staff was very friendly and was always at our service. The rooms were clean and had enough space.
