La Ciutadella Youth Hostel was inaugurated in January 2001, as part of a deal with the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

The hostel accommodates students of both genres and includes 270 rooms laid out as single rooms,, rooms for two and double ambient rooms. There are also rooms available that have been designed for handicapped persons.

The Hostel is situated in a central location, since it is in front of the well-know La Ciutadella Park, only a 10 minute walk away from the Ramblas, 20 minute walk away from the beach amd from the Sagrada Família.

All of the rooms include a fitted kitchen, complete bathroom, heating, telephone and computer connection with Internet.

The bedrooms are equipped with a bed measuring 200x90 cm, armoire,chairs, desk lamp, bookcase unit and mirror. The hostel provides the mattress with a case, pillow and bedspread.

The kitchen is fitted with electrical stove plates, smoke extractor and refrigerator. Kitchen utensils consist of plates, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans, calender, coffee pot, cooking utensils, a ... in addition to cleaning appliances: garbage container, broom and shovel and a small frame for drying clothes.

The laundry room and the parking are not free.
