Chungking Mansions is not the nicest place to stay in Hong Kong, but on a traveller's budget, lets face it, you are left with little option. The building itself is not particularly clean and there are loads of touts everywhere, but they are harmless enough.
Germany Hostel was clean and friendly. We had a very small room (there are two of us) but the sheets were clean, the room was serviced daily and the staff were really friendly.

We have single beds for one to two people and twin beds for two to four people. We have a condiments corner next to our reception desk where you can get FREE coffee, tea, hot drinking water is available all the time. Our guesthouse is equipped with the latest CCTV surveillance system and Chubbs safe deposit we ensure that your belongings are safe 24 hours a day.
We can also arrange China Visa's in 24 hours and make travel arrangements during your stay in Hong Kong. Please feel free to approach our staff anytime you will find that all our staff are friendly, hospitable and speak fluent English.
We offer clean, comfortable, friendly and hospitable service 16hrs a day. Our comfortable rooms offer many facilities to make your stay more enjoyable such as air conditioning, colour TV and 24hr hot water. Our reception is opened from 10a.m.- 2a.m.(midnight).

Germany Hostel was clean and friendly. We had a very small room (there are two of us) but the sheets were clean, the room was serviced daily and the staff were really friendly. The air conditioning worked and there was hot water and a clean bathroom (although very small). For Hong Kong prices, the value was therefore good!
If you are on a budget like us, check out the Deli France sandwich shops for a cheap 'baguette of the day' for lunch and also check out the Indian restaurants in Chungking Mansions. We ate at a couple on the 1st floor and they were reasonable and the food was lovely.

Directions
From HK Airport take the Airport Express train to Hong Kong station then walk to Central MTR Station.
Take the train to Tsim Sha Tsui then take Exit C1. Chungking Mansions will be just across the street.
Fare is HK$ 100
Travel Time: Approx 25-35 Minutes.
By Bus from the Airport take Bus number A21 (5:30 AM till midnight) or N21 (Midnight to 5:00 AM) the bus will mention the stops en route get off at Chungking Mansions, Nathan Road.
Fare is HK$ 33.00
Travelling Tiam: Approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Please make sure you have the exact fare as the bus will not issue change or purchase a ticket from the ticketing office near the bus terminus.
