I loved Osa Mariposa. The place is perfect to relax and have a couple of good nights of fun. Their vegan food is so good specially their bean burgers and the falaffel and all the other dishes they prepare. I would definitely go back every year and relax some more.

We are a small New hostel located in the "Brisas de Zicatela" neighborhood of Puerto Escondido, southwestern coast of Oaxaca, Mexico. Puerto Escondido and Playa Zicatela are home to the "Mexican Pipeline", one of the top 10 surf breaks in the world, and a wealth of natural and cultural beauty.
The property sits less than 100 meters from the Zicatela beach about halfway between the center of town and "The Point". We offer simple and comfortable cabins, both dormitory and private style, tranquil garden/common area, delicious and affordable vegetarian food, and our bar specializes in local Mezcal varieties (an alcohol similar to Tequila , also derived from the agave plant).
Osa Mariposa can be reached from central Puerto Escondido in about 5 minutes by taxi or bus (camioneta) or a nice 30 minute walk down the beach. From the hostel you'll have access to the restaurants, clubs, and shops of old Puerto Escondido ("El Adoquin") as well as those of the Zicatela Beach and the quiet, shady neighborhood down by the Point. The town of Puerto Escondido is the perfect home base for exploring the mountains, rivers, hot springs, virgin white and black sand beaches, lagoons, nature reserves, and indigenous villages that surround it.

I loved Osa Mariposa. The place is perfect to relax and have a couple of good nights of fun. I would really recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a great food experience and relaxing atmosphere. the people that work there are some of the nicest people I met in Puerto Escondido Oaxaca.

For everyone out there looking for some great atmosphere, good prices, amazing staff and a vibe wich really exceeds this world just go to Osa Mariposa in Pto Escondido. Overthere David, and the twins Kara and Kelly are going to receive you with the arms wide open. Its really clean, close to the beach and with quite good and international atmosphere. Go there, I guarantte you ll not regreat it.
