Dear Travellerspoint,

We made a booking for Spring Hotel Shenzhen on the 4th of august 2009, booking confirmation number is 36244-14473625. A 10% deposit payment was also made. However, upon arrival at the hotel, the hotel could not find our booking and mentioned that they have a policy of not accepting any payment prior to the arrival of guests. Hence, no rooms were kept for us, and much distraught was caused. We have no idea where the payment had gone to, or what happened to our booking. We hope you can reply and englighten us on this matter. Thank You.

Travellerspoint Response

When properties sign up to our system they agree to honour all bookings that come through it, and naturally part of that includes deducting the deposit from the total charge. Each property is notified in threefold of every booking, so misplacing a booking is quite difficult, although there is of course a human element involved here.

We are looking into this case and how this mistake could have been made.
