Cazzamia has a great homely feel to the place, Everything about this hostel is of high quality with the only downside being that it is a 20 minute walk to public transport (train - but that distance could be far far worse when compared to other cities, and the neighborhood is quite safe).

For anyone looking for a great hostel within NYC which is away from the insanity of Manhattan, I would recommend that Cazzamia is where you should stay.

Well, we really loved our stay at Cazzamia. Not only the place is great (perfectly clean, comfortable, and well decorated), but the staff is wonderful.

They gave us a lot of tips that made our trip to NYC one of the best we ever had.

Our room was perfect, (best bed we ever slept in), breakfast is tasty, and 2 real and clean bathrooms available.

You might be worried at first about the situation, but we felt it was great to escape from NYC crazyness to have a good night sleep before going back to Manhattan. Transportation are good to the hostel as it is located on the main route to the Airport. It is close to Laguardia, but far enough to have a good night without hearing the planes.

If you are looking for a different experience, with warm atmosphere and a lot of contacts with other guests and staff, this is the place to be.

We will be back!

Cazzamia is a great, quiet place to stay and I'm sure I'll be returning. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the closest subway and even quicker if you take the bus. I was a total newbie about NYC when I arrived but the manager was exceptionally helpful in getting me oriented. You can tell these people really care about running a great business. Oh, and the breakfast in the mornings is wonderful!

We had a great time when we went me and my friend in August. It was my first time to New York but staying there was like staying with family. We will go back when going to New York. Do not hesitate to choose cazzamia it is worth it.

By Bus
Bus Q33 will take you to 30th Avenue and 82nd Street a two block walk from the Hostel

By Taxi
$10-$12 fare to Cazzamia, only a 10 minute ride.

From JFK Airport

By Bus and Subway
Take the Air Train to Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens. Transfer to the E express train towards Manhattan. Exit at Roosevelt Avenue stop and either take a 3 minute cab from there ($8-$10) or take a free transfer (with metrocard) to bus Q33 and exit on 30th Avenue and 83rd Street which is only a block walk from the Hostel.

By Taxi
$25-$30 fare to Cazzamia. Approximately 20 minute ride.
