Important Information

The dorm rooms are in the original 'La Casa Vieja' farm house from the early days of the Finca. Rates include taxes, a “finca tour”, and breakfast of fruits with cinnamon tea or coffee and generally something baked in the Solar Oven or pancakes. You are invited to “pick your own breakfast” and beautiful tropical flowers for your room. Fans (or blankets) and mosquito nets are available for all rooms, and talcum powder to keep your sheets fresh and dry.

The Hummingbird room has a double bed, a sink and east facing garden view windows with sunny mornings.

Escondido has a double bed with one window and a private door to the patio. This is best for late sleepers.

The Library DORM has one sets of bunk beds, made with teak from the farm, and an individual, one window and private entrance to the patio.

These share the community bathroom with a tiled, hot shower, 2 toilets and the “Periwinkle Pila”, a large tiled utility sink. WiFi is available.

The mini-suite has 2 private double beds rooms, both with large garden view windows and a sink, they share an in-suite bath and a door to the patio.

The Master Suite has 2 private double beds rooms, both with garden view windows and share the large salon and a private bath. It has a door to the patio.

Everyone hangs out on the patio. This is a NON-SMOKING facility. We often have Movie Night or 'Join the Discussion' night and of course GAME night. but we do get up with the sun, Amanecer.... we have fun, but it is not a late night party place. We welcome clothing optional, except in the creek because of our Tico neighbors.

Londres is pretty laid back, safe and quiet. This is ideal for single travelers, 'a place to meet life long friends'. (guest, Mark Easter) We are not on the ocean, at 300 feet we are on 7 acres of tropical forests on Rio Naranjo with 500 feet of creek frontage on site. We 150 meters south of the London Bridge and 150 meters before you reach the center of Londres.

You'll be surrounded by the sounds, birds, and plants of the Rio Naranjo ecosystem: see Scarlet Macaws and toucans, be seduced by the fragrance of Ylang Ylang, El Lirio and fall asleep to the profusion of Night Blooming Jasmine. You'll delight in the beauty of gardens filled with tropical gingers and heliconias and our ever popular “ducha del ambiente” our 4 headed garden shower. Relax by the creek, or just hang out in a hammock and watch the Fiery-billed Aracari toucans, tanagers and humming birds or Green Iguanas in the trees, there's plenty to enjoy at Finca Amanecer.

The building and grounds provide examples of sustainable design: solar clothes dryer; a “Tico semi-automatic washer”, recycled and native materials; and the rooms open to the gardens. Most walls are only one sided for a good reason; less places for nests! Here you’ll enjoy the Bali or Hawaiian feel, there is no need for glass in the windows, all rooms have fans and you’ll enjoy the sound of the rain on the tin roofs. We are remodeling with giant bamboo from the finca. It’s all about leaving a smaller footprint on Mother Earth.

Christmas to Easter Rio Naranjo is a 'lazy river', the rest of the year you can go white water rafting! There is a 'soda' and a GREAT Mini-Super. It is safe for single women, and you can walk to the bus or the waterfall (FREE). Sleep to the sounds of the Rio Naranjo enjoy cooler temps than at the beach, and cool off in the Rio or a creek on site. Londres, is the Tico version of Mayberry RFD.

Enjoy nature's own aromatherapy; nightly Ylang Ylang known as the Chanel #5 tree; and if you are lucky you'll be intoxicated by the fragrance of Night Blooming Jasmine. Que Rico! This is still my favorite experience.

It is 40 minute drive to the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park and adventure tours abound. I can even provide a map for a free hike to Bridal Veil Falls.

Finca Amanecer is perfect for those students desiring Spanish immersion, as Londres is a small pueblo where 95% of the population speaks only Spanish. You might even want to volunteer and spend the afternoon at the High School offering them an opportunity o practice their conversational English. It's also a great place to meet other adventurous travelers and plan the rest of your stay. Your hostess Elena Ross v co-authored 'Discovering Costa Rica with GPS' in 1996, and she will help with all your travel plans.

“Finca Amanecer, means Sunrise Farms or Awakening. This is a farm house “experience”, not the Hilton. We offer clean, comfortable, “funky”, open air rooms with linen service, fans, and mosquito nets. Includes a “finca tour”, delicious tropical breakfast with fresh fruits and breads baked in our Solar Oven. Healthy vegetarian, vegan or gluten free meals available with advanced notice. Swim in our on site creek or sunbath in our 7 acres Bamboo forest. Londres is a typical Tico town 10 miles EAST of Quepos, it's cooler, greener and much more fragrant than Quepos with Rio Naranjo across the street, and most of the tours take place out here.

We also have 'Movie Night' and 'Join the Discussion' this is not a party place, but we do have fun. This is a NON-SMOKING facility, and from the name can you guess we get up early.
