House Rules

To keep the atmosphere in the rock and bowl laid back we do not accept bookings from stag or hen nights, sports tours, we do not allow persons under 18 years of age travelling on their own*, persons travelling with pets or large groups of males (more than 10). Unless agreed with management.

*UK law states we are not allowed to let under 18s stay in the hostel unaccompanied by a guardian, they also must not stay in dorms with any other guests. If you wish to stay in the hostel with an under 18 you must make sure you book the entire room. The under 18 must never left unsupervised. Please ring our staff to check your reservation.

Please note: Read above carefully because in the event of a false booking, there will be no check in nor will there be a refund.

We do not allow bookings of more than 7 days.

We require a valid passport or drivers licence, national identity card (non UK residents only) from each guest upon arrival.

We also require a £10 cash deposit from each guest upon arrival that will be returned on check out as long as the following are adhered to.
• You return your Key / Code card
• You return the linen we supplied you
• You check out before 11am
• No damages have occurred to any items or property

All nights of accommodation must be paid for on arrival.

It is illegal to smoke anywhere in the Rock n Bowl premises, if you are found smoking you will be fined £100 and evicted immediately.

We have a Zero drugs policy and if you are caught with any drugs you will be reported to the police and evicted immediately.

Reception is closed between 11am-1pm, at this time the rooms will be cleaned. This also means there will be no access to the luggage rooms.


We hire towels and foreign electrical adaptors, deposits are required. We also have earplugs at reception

You receive 15% off food in The Lanes Bar just show your room card before payment. Food is served between 5pm-10pm daily.

We have a cinema that shows films and we also have live comedy, some of the shows are free just ask at reception.


Please be respectful of other guests

Safety is important to us so
 Only paying hostel guests are allowed upstairs
 Please always shut doors behind you do not hold them open for other people unless you are sure they are a hostel guest.
 If you notice any suspicious behaviour, please inform a member of staff immediately.

Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated, if we feel you are behaving in such a way you will be asked to leave with no refund and the police may be called.

Please look after your belongings as we do not accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged property.

We make every effort to accommodate you in the dormitory size of your choice and put group bookings in the same rooms. However, because of the nature of our business, we may have to place you in different sized dormitory or groups may be put in different dorms. As a result the balance to be paid upon arrival can be slightly different from what is stated on your confirmation.


Reservation by phone.
When you make a reservation on the phone always ask for a reservation number from our staff.
Make sure you bring this reservation number with you to the hostel. Otherwise possible reservation confusion will be at your own responsibility.

Reservation by email.
When making a reservation by email, please ensure you fill in all the information required. If you do not receive a personal email from one of our staff this means you booking may have been not be confirmed.

Reception hours are 1pm-11am 7 days a week.


Please note: Rock n Bowl Hostel staff reserve the right to refuse accommodation or evict without a reason.
