I stayed in a traditional Japanese room (sleeping on tatami mats).
Place was clean. A little bit of a walk from the train station. Good facilities. WiFi would have been nice but computers with internet were available downstairs. The public bath was clean however some English instruction regarding how some of the taps work (and the fact that they didn't provide hot water to most!) would have been good.

The Hotel was located in a convenient location. It was just outside INARICHO station. And about 6 min walk from JR Ueno Station.
The facilities were fine. Not great. The room was really very small, but worth the money. It stinked a lil bit. The AC wasn't intense. This hotel was close to a grave-yard.(minus-points).
The receptionists were helpful. Onsen is from 7 am till 12 mid-night. Though, this is sufficient. I'd suggest, the open time be 5 am. This might help a lot of travellers.
"24 hours" door open is a very big-advantage. No restrictions on the IN-time to the hotel. There is a McD very close by. An Indian restaurant near-by. After some 10 min. walk from the hotel, one can get into the Ueno City Life.Overall, it was a comfortable stay. I recommend this hotel for people who are planning for 4 day trips to Tokyo and would like to have more of evening and late-night fun.
Thanks for the comfortable accomodation. Kindly look into the minus points and your hotel shall become even more comfortable.
Regards,
Ravi.

Don't do it. The best thing to be said about the place is that they didn't steal my laptop when left there by accident. Gross smells and seedy stains.

Me and my friends stayed here for 2 nights. Tsukuba Hotel is the worst hotel i stayed in our entire trip in Japan.
1. Upon check in.... Matsuda San didnt know that we already paid 10% reservation and expects us to pay the full amount. It took 15mins or a little more before he agreed to just charged us the full amount less our down payment.
2. Common bath can only be used in the morning until 830am, and in the evening until 11pm. Matsuda San did not inform us, and did not allow us to use the common bathroom. The signs where in Japanese text.
3. The common toilet at the upper floor is eastern (old style), there is one western style for ladies but the area is very small.
4. Their ensuite room wherein my married friends stayed had a very limited space, even for bath. There were also insect bites when the couple woke up.
5. We requested if we can have our luggage stay until 10pm at night, but Matsuda San said it is not allowed.
I hope you will not make the same mistake as we did.
