Our historic and graceful Bullis House Inn is located just minutes from downtown San Antonio and is directly across the street from Fort Sam Houston with easy access to and from the San Antonio International Airport, downtown by car or local bus.We have been a favorite of travellers for over 29 years.Our Office hours are limited to 8:00 AM to 12 Noon and 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
With advance notice we will leave a night access key for incoming guests after 9:30 PM.
Highly rated and Historic mansion beautifully restored in the 1980s, the Bullis House Inn is a three story neo-classical designed mansion that was built from 1906 to 1909 for General John Lapham Bullis, a frontier Indian fighter who played a key role in the capture of the famous Apache chief, Geronimo. Bullis House is a registered Texas historic landmark and near downtown San Antonio, in the Government Hill Historic District.
Please note: We require the first night deposit less the 10% internet reservation deposit paid prior to arrival date. The first night deposit will be charged to your Visa or MasterCard upon notification to us of your upcoming reservation with HostelBookers. Hotel tax is 16.75% and will be added to your room rate.
As a guest of the Bullis House Inn, you will experience lovely and spacious guest rooms. All guestrooms are individually decorated in colors of royal blues, hunter greens, burgundies and gold’s. All rooms have decorative plaster 14 Ft ceilings with chandeliers; cable TV; Heat & A/C; Ironing boards & Irons; hair dyers; clock radios; closets; Queen & Twin size daybeds. Some rooms have king size beds and wood burning fireplaces. All rooms are non smoking. All rooms have access to hall baths, sitting parlors, free high speed internet access,free wifi and an upstairs telephone for local calls, pay telephone,,large retro swimming pool. Free coffee or tea.
There is a fully equipped kitchen, coin operated lockers, maps and other information located next door within the San Antonio International Hostel for all guests to use.
Parking is free.
Pierce Street at E. Grayson Street
• Directions by Car: 2 miles north of downtown off I-35
• Directions by Bus: From the Greyhound bus terminal, walk about 5 blocks south on St. Mary's Street to E. Commerce to again catch the #20 bus.
• Directions by Airport: Take SA Trans shuttle to hostel or airport express bus (limited hours) to downtown
• Directions by Train: #20 bus on E. Commerce from the train station which is on E. Commerce.
• The # 20 bus will let you off at the corner of Carson & Pierce just 2 blocks from HI-San Antonio which is at 621 Pierce Street.
Check-in Time: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Check-out Time: 12:00 Noon
Smoking and Pets: Not permitted.
Notice: From time to time the Bullis House hosts receptions and conferences which may disturb your stay, please ask whether an event is scheduled during your planned visit.
We require a two night minimum on weekends for either Single or Double Private rooms.
We also require a minimum14 day cancellation notice prior to arrival date on all of our private rooms.
Cancellations: At least 5 days advance notice of cancellation is required for a full refund. (21 days for reservations of three or more rooms) For cancellations of less than 5 days notice, a partial refund for the nights we can re-book your room (less a $10 per room cancellation charge) will be given. This policy is required as we have only a small number of rooms and cannot always re-book a room on short notice. We make every effort to re-book a room, and we will gladly give a partial refund if we can.
