This is a Trusted Review. Why?

The owner is a very nice Buddhist ex-monk who gives a percentage of the profits to charity for Asian children. This is the cheapest place we stayed at during three weeks in Japan, and it was very good value for money. The owner values the small scale, so that he has the opportunity to talk to each of his guests personally. There is a small reception room with a cosy heated table, where we played a game with Hiragana characters (made easier for us foreigners) with the owner and some of his friends. We stayed in the private room, but there are also even cheaper dorm beds available. There is a small living room with internet facilities. There is no room service, and you are expected to make your bed yourself, but that really didn't matter to us. The place is only a short way from the station - great if you walk in the right direction, unlike us! So make sure you follow the directions that come with the booking confirmation.
