I had nice experience during my stay for 7 days.My visit was to attend course, so most of day (8 to 8)I was at venue.I cannot say much from tourist point of view.Few things I felt was finding the place is not that easy though graphical pics was available and I reached at 1 am had hard time.

Hornbill Holiday Home is in the south coast and stay here in Colombo in group or alone would indeed be pleasantly memorable.

Hornbill Holiday Home is located on the coast 10 Km south from Colombo, a 10 minutes drive from Ratmalana Airport, 2Km from famous Mount Lavinia beach, a 5 minutes walking distance from railway station and a 10 minutes drive to all important shopping malls.

I had nice experience during my stay for 7 days.My visit was to attend course, so most of day (8 to 8)I was at venue.I cannot say much from tourist point of view.Few things I felt was finding the place is not that easy though graphical pics was available and I reached at 1 am had hard time.But once you are aware of surrounding it will be easy.Well placed from sea shore,railway station and to main bus stand.Lots of buses and tuk tuks.No good restaurant near by had to walk for 1/2 to 1km or place order for home delivary.No proper receptionist and service boy hardly understands English.If you reach at night you can sort out your problems only by morning.Group stay is nice.For budget stay I feel its one of the best in Sri lanka.

Very good opportunity to stay low budget, but with air-condition and friendly stuff;
closed to the railway station and beach at start or end of a trip. This area has no much infra-structure and the beach is used by the poor fisher-mans from the closed slams (so I would call it). How ever - it looks not dangerous.

Hostel is clean and quite.Close by rail station & bus stand to reach many parts of Columbo and surroundings.Enjoyed free coffee & tea. But internet is placed in a dungeon area, where you can not sit for more than 5 mts. Anyway it is worth for what we pay.

The hostel is very clean and good value for the money. The town has all the facilities such as restaurants and places for shopping. The rooms are cleaned every day. Hot water available through the day. My only disappointing is, while walking from the hostel to the town, I noticed the drains water is stag net and smelly.
The staffs are friendly and helpful. Overall I enjoyed my stay in this hostel and hope to return again.

i like this hotel very much as it is near to sea and railway station . people are very cooperative and helpful , moreover it very chief .
but kitchen facility should be increase , atleast micooven should be in the kitchen .

It was a brief stay, would like to have leaf let showing the hotels nearby and the locations to visit as it is easier not to trouble any one.

Good room, clean but tv and bed lamps didn't work.

Location was a bit out of the way - close to zoo and Mt Lavinia but hassle getting to Fort and Galle Face Green type area.

Main issue was the service - we arrived on Sat morning and left early Mon morning and it seems like the normal staff who might help are only there on weekdays.

The guy who seemed to be looking after things over the weekend couldn't help us with anything - from getting the lamps fixed to helping us get a taxi!!!
