We are close to National Park Los Glaciers (Parque Nacional Los Glaciares), you won't get any closer to Perito Moreno Glacier (Glaciar Perito Moreno).

Birds Natural Reserve located in Solitary Island (Isla Solitaria), Nimez Lagoon (Laguna Nimez). Many different birds are here: Black-necked Swans, Chilean Flamingos, Condors, Black chested Buzzard Eagle and more.

How to get there:
El Calafate has an International Airport, situated 18 km from the city.
You can take a taxi in the airport to the Hosteria and the cost is $80(Argentinian pesos) or a traffic at $26(Argentinian pesos) per person more and less.
By Car:
From Esquel: Take the National Route 40 to the south to Gobernador Costa. From there, take the Provincial Route 20; you will pass by New Lubecka, La Laurita and Los Tamariscos.
After this town, take the right and take the Provincial Route 22 to Rio Mayo (238 km). Take the National Route 40 and drive 123 km in the direction of Perito Moreno.
After arriving into Perito Moreno, you can go on to Los Antiguos, and then take the National Route 40 for 133 km. This sector is desolate, no services or villages, except for some touristic estancias.
Please note that your point of references will be: Rio Olnie, Las Horquetas, Tamel Aike, La Angostura, Lago Cardiel and Tres Lagos.
From Rio Gallegos:
You will arrive in El Calafate after 315 km. Take the National Route 3, Provincial Route 5, National Route 40, and the Provincial Route 11 to get to the city.
