Sunrise Mingqing Hostel, Chongqing, China

Minqing Hostel is located in No.23, Xia Hongxuexiang, Yuzhong District, Chongqing (opposite to the Guangdong House, Huguang Guild). The building was built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and was mostly used as residential house after liberation.

Mingqing Hostel is fantastic with typical traditional Chinese architecture. At the entrance, four Chinese characters of "Zi qi teng hui" meaning "Elegance & prosperous", are well-carved on top of the gate, showing its vicissitudes and prosperity of the past. The whole building has an anterior and rear hall, separated by an aisle. The two halls and aisle form the whole building into the shape of the Chinese character of "Ri" (means "sun" signifying prosperous). There is a well in the center of rear hall which makes the rooms very bright. Modern facilities are equipped in the following: air conditioner, toilet, heating system, television etc. The traditional architecture with modern inner facilities will make you experience the changing times of both now and the past.
