Our mission at Base Camp Hostel is to provide ten beds (6 dorm, 2 private rooms) for the adventured traveler who prefer quality over quantity. (There is quite literally more shared space than beds) We boast the best open kitchen in Antigua, well equipped for guests to use as well as a dining room and living room. We also have a cool lounge area for dvd/tv/music/library enjoyment. It feels like home.
Both the Private rooms are bright spaces bathed in natural dark wood. One is simply reminded of comfort and pleasure of a mountain chalet at every turn.
The dorm is no exception; the space is truly beautiful and unique.
We operate with O.X. Outdoor Excursions and therefore are literally your Base Camp for adventure! What does that mean? O.X. specializes in volcano expeditions but also provides bikes, bike tours, lake tours, shuttle services and much much more!

Directions
From Airport: get to Antigua. A shared shuttle (drop off Central Park) should be about $10, a taxi will cost about $25. Get dropped off at the hostel.
By Bus: Buses drop at the market terminal in Antigua. Simply follow 5th Ave. directly, pass the Central Park and follow the directions below to 1st Av. Sur (south) #4b (10 blocks).
By Car: Once in Antigua, due to many'one way streets, it is best to head up 6th Calle (or 7th Calle) in order to connect with 1st Ave. South. Once there you must turn left. We are just a half block up on the left.
By Taxi
From the Central Park in Antigua, when facing south (towards Volcano Agua) make a left turn on 5th calle and walk three blocks until you reach 1st Avenida sur. Take a right turn again towards the same volcano. We are located on the right (west) side of the street, look for O.X. (Outdoor Excursions) or Base Camp directly in front of Nokiate sushi restaurant.
