Rooms are light; beds are huge, lots of space for yourself. Books, free Wi-Fi, games, “very” central location, airport/city transfer, tourist info, visa support, cafes & restaurants area nearby. Red Square is within walking distance, night life, kitchen facilities, TV etc and surely friendly atmosphere! We are not special, we are sufficient.

Private double room: 2 large comfortable twin beds, wardrobe for personal belongings, lots of space.
Mixed dorm: there are 4-bed and 6 bed dorms. Large light rooms. Comfortable large beds. Space for luggage.
Female 4-bed dorm and Male 4-bed dorm are spacious, nicely decorated. Mirrors, Space for personal belongings
Location Information
The nearest Tube station is Chistie Prudi (Red Line Moscow Tube). Walk along the Boulevard around 20 meters, turn to the left to Bolshoy Kharitonyevsky Lane. Walk 3 minutes and you will see house 13A to the left.

Unfortunately the negatives of Shelter outweighed the positives. We arranged for an airport pickup which never came. Having 24 check-in was helpful, but it wasn't present during one of our nights there, so someone was left ringing at the door for ages very late at night, but couldn't be let into the hostel (the administrator wasn't there): the bell kept the entire place awake. We got a twin when we ordered a double room. The wi-fi was unreliable. Washing was dried on a rack with others', so risked mixing up the clothes. So the management was quite patchy, some (e.g. when we arrived) were good, but other staff (e.g. when we left) were far less competent. On the positive side, the place had quite a good location near Christie Prudi (so some good restaurants nearby, though the staff couldn't tell us about them) and was reasonably clean.
