If youre considering next summers holidays you may well have thought of Croatia and the famous city of Dubrovnik. You wont be alone as hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world have decided that this is the time to see this amazing walled city on the sea and this stunning part of Croatias Adriatic coast. Dubrovnik can get very crowded and chaotic in summer and hotels arent cheap there. The city is much in demand and parking is almost impossible. Above the city is a pretty, typical Croatian village called Bosanka and its mentioned in the French guide book Guide Routard and in Jonathan Bousfields Rough Guide to Croatia. Its less than a 10 minute drive away from Dubrovnik or for the really fit, theres a path. A stay here gives you the best of Dubrovnik with a peaceful retreat at the end of the day and is a great location for visiting other parts of the coast. This is a haven of calm away from the hustle and bustle and in hot summers, its often a degree or two cooler up in the almost-mountain air at Bosanka. If you come from a city, you and your family may well enjoy the sight of goats, chickens and lambs grazing happily.
