Lovely guesthouse with great hosts, very friendly and helpful. Guesthouse was very clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good. Had to get a taxi to Jonker walk as was a little far to walk. Would definately stay here again.
Welcome to Cyclamen Cottage, a hotel with a historical past and modern amenities. Built in 1937, this colonial architectural style building has undergone meticulous restoration and conservation to reflect its original charm. Cyclamen Cottage was formerly home to the Peranakans or Straits-born (referring to the settlements of adventurous traders from China who married the local Malay ladies). The Peranakan male is called \'Baba\', the female \'Nyonya\'.
A unique haven in Malacca city, Cyclamen Cottage is just 5 minutes drive from famous historical sites like the Stadhuys. With a sprawling lawn, it houses 11 rooms beautifully furnished with antique Colonial and Peranakan teakwood furniture.
Very new, this heritage building just undergone restoration and conservation. A historical building with modern amenities.

a lovely experience: Cindy the manager and her husband Chris were both really friendly and helpful. Chris has his own museum set up in their unit next door to the hotel, and is only too willing to show hotel guests around it: he is a genuine source of real information about the history of Melaka, and helped to make our visit even more interesting.
The hotel is beautifully restored with a lot of genuine old furniture and antiques in the rooms. The ambience is restful and easy going.
A little far out of town, but this ensures a peaceful environment that cannot be found in the middle of Chinatown.
We would most certainly stay there again if we go back to Melaka.
Cyclamen cottage has been beautifully restored. It was a peaceful and very pleasant place to stay, with excellent facilities. Cindy was a warm and generous host and very welcoming. Thanks also to Chris for sharing his collection and knowledge of the past. The breakfasts, Malay and Nonya food, were huge and delicious. I'd be really happy to recommend it to anyone staying in Malacca.
