We arrrived late on a sunday and it appeared they had overbooked the hotel, which was a little worrying for first time Vietnam travellers like us. They were extremely friendly though and assured that they had another room organised at a different hotel just a couple of blocks away that we could stay at and we would be taken back to the correct hotel the following moring.
This seemed a rough start but everything happened as they had told us.

A BRAND NEW hotel located on Thanh Ha Str in Hanoi Old Quarter (has a lift ). 0.2Km from Hoan Kiem Lake. 1minute walk to Water Puppet theatre, shopping centre, banks and ATM. Beautiful and great rooms. English speaking staff providing helpful information arround Hanoi. Very good price. No worries

They were extremely friendly though and assured that they had another room organised at a different hotel just a couple of blocks away that we could stay at and we would be taken back to the correct hotel the following moring.
This seemed a rough start but everything happened as they had told us. Later we had many questions about the sights and sounds of hanio and they were more than happy to help, with very good english skills. We even booked our travel and accomadation for hoi an through them without any problems and even got a considerable discount compared to internet prices.
Highly recomeneded budget place to stay.

+ 40 minutes ( by taxi ) from the airport ( US$15 for an airport pick up. Flight number + landing time needed )
+ 10 minutes by taxi from the train station ( free pick up for every booking )
+ 1 hour by minibus from the airport ( US$2 with Vietnam Airlines bus ). Bus stops at Vietnam Airlines bus stop , it takes 5 minutes (on foot ) to The World Hotel.
+ 1 hour and 15 minutes by Hanoi city bus ( No17 ). From the last station ( Long Bien ), it costs 30,000 Vietnamese Dong to The World Hotel ( by taxi ) or 15,000 VND ( by motorbike )
