The World Hotel was opened in August 2010 by David Pham. David has extensive experience in working for travel agencies and 3 star hotels and will make your stay at The World Hotel a comfortable one.
The World Hotel has 3 dorm rooms and 12 private rooms, with a total of 56 beds throughout the hotel. All rooms come with telephones, air conditioning, cable TV, private bathroom, writing desks, wardrobe, and wooden floors.
Your stay comes with free wi-fi, breakfast, and drinks all day. David and his staff will do all they can to meet your needs and allow you to have a pleasnt stay in Hanoi. The World Hotel, has a very relaxed feel, with friendly staff, and very clean and comfortable rooms to stay in.
The World Hotel is 16 Thanh Ha, Str, Hanoi, Vietnam in a great location, very near the spiritual Hoan Kiem Lake, and a short walk from St.Joseph Cathedral. From the hotel it is easy to get to many tourist attractions such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Water Puppet Theater, and the biggest market in Hanoi. Guests are also in close proximity to thriving bars that attract foreigners and fun loving locals alike.

This was a horrible place. Please stay away. Not only was it dirty and moldy, it was bug ridden and the internet did not work. The complementary breakfast was browning fruit with gnats. I understand that it is supposed to be a good value, but you are sacrificing a lot if you stay here! Spend the couple extra dollars for a clean place! I even had to pay my cab driver extra because it was nearly impossible to find. Also had to shell out money for all the allergies I had as a result. Really not worth the trouble! Please avoid this place!

I would first like to say that the pictures of the hotel on their website do not look anything like the Actual Hotel. The website also says that they do free airport pickup. We followed their instructions and sent them an email with our flight number and time of arrival. We did this several days before our actual flight and did not receive any confirmation emails. Our flight got in around 10:30pm and no one was their to pick us up. We took a taxi to the hotel and the person working did not even offer to pay for the taxi ride. When we talked to them the next day about the airport pickup, they said that a driver was waiting for us. We looked everywhere and knew they were lying to us.
We got a a key to our room and noticed that the double bed we had reserved was actually 2 twins. We went downstairs and asked if they could fix this problem and they said the rooms with the double beds were all booked up... So much for reservations. Again, the hotel and room was nothing like the website. The room was dirty, smelly, full of cock roaches and mosquitos. The AC also did not work very well.
Overall, we were very disappointed and somewhat angry with our stay at the World Hotel. $20 is quite expensive compared to the other hotels in the area. We stayed at another hotel which was only a 10 minute walk away for $25/night and it was literally night and day.
Warning: Do not stay at this hotel!

The property is notified in threefold of every single booking, and the availability removed from the site. Naturally it is very disappointing to hear that The World Hotel told you that they had no double bed room available for you. We are working with them to ensure this situation is avoided in future.
This hotel is in the heart in the old quarter of the city. You step out the door and are in the middle of a colourful and bustling and interesting food market. The guys at the hotel could not be more helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable and they make a terrific breakfast(included). They have good value tours and do not try to pressure you into taking their tours. A good place to enjoy Hanoi and its surrounds.

We arrrived late on a sunday and it appeared they had overbooked the hotel, which was a little worrying for first time Vietnam travellers like us. They were extremely friendly though and assured that they had another room organised at a different hotel just a couple of blocks away that we could stay at and we would be taken back to the correct hotel the following moring.
This seemed a rough start but everything happened as they had told us. Later we had many questions about the sights and sounds of hanio and they were more than happy to help, with very good english skills. We even booked our travel and accomadation for hoi an through them without any problems and even got a considerable discount compared to internet prices.
Highly recomeneded budget place to stay.
