I planned to stay here for 11 days, but in the end I left after just two days.
I was travelling with my wife and my 8 month old baby.
The room we stayed in was nice, with own kitchen and bathroom and veranda.
The property itself was ok, although difficult to navigate because of the narrow roads.
When booking I explicitly stated that I would need Internet inside the room,
to be able to do some work and to keep in touch with the family at home. When arriving, Tom stated, that the signal in the room was somewhat low, so I better go on the veranda, if I want to use the Internet.
Unfortunately it turned out, that there is no net in the Mango room whatsoever, and also on the veranda in was extremely poor, the signal fading and coming back at intervals. When pointing this out to the owner, he told me that the problem was with our laptops. This is of course not true, since I write this very review from the same laptop I couldn't use at his place.
Also the second night we stayed there, the temperature in our room dropped below 18 C.
My child slept in a knitten cap and many layers of clothes, my wife and I in 2 socks and longsleeves. After examining the windows, it turned out that a portion of the window pane was missing, and the cold was literally pouring right unto our bed. This was the point when I had enough. When leaving the owner tzold me that the half open veranda supposedly keeps out the cold, and that he was not responsible for the weather. It seems, he didn't felt responsible for the missing pane either, so we left, before catching a serious cold at the brink of the jungle.
I think in the end the owner didn't understood, what our problem was, but I am sure he made a good deal with us, since he charged us 1700 baht/day for a cold room with no internet no breakfast and no nothing. Also, for lending his gas stove he asked for 500 bahts, which I reluctantly agreed since I had to feed my baby some fresh food.
All in all I cannot recommend this place, since we didn't get from the owner what we agreed in the first place. I got the impression, he was more out for money, than serving his customers.
