We made an online booking at AWA Waldorf through Travellerspoint.com for a weekend during the Vancouver Olympics. When we arrived at the hotel, though, there was no record of our booking - it had gotten lost somewhere in cyberspace! The staff at Waldorf were INCREDIBLY helpful once they realized what had happened - first thing they did was call the agency that supposedly made our booking (travellerspoint?). They also went over options with us - let us know about the bus system, where we could try to rent a car, how far out of the city we might have to go to find accomodation, etc. As we talked it became clear that we were S-O-L ... at which point, one lady who worked there offered us her townhome to use for the weekend, at no cost!! Amazingly, the agency called back, and were able to find us a room for the same rate that was actually closer to downtown. Thus - although we did not actually stay at the Waldorf, their honesty, assistance, and hospitality were greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten!!!
