We stayed in memento for 4 nights in July 2009. We thought that they were well organised and they also presented to be caring.
We arrived later than expected but I had forewarned the owner 2 days in advanced. They were very positive and very prompt to answer their emails.

About Memento
This romantic apartment is situated just below Marijan hill in the Varos district of Split, an area containing many ancient houses set along winding cobbled streets.
Decorated in a rustic style, with exposed stone and wooden furniture, the apartment is entered from a cobbled street into a hallway from where there are steps leading down into a colourful open plan kitchen/diner/lounge area with French doors opening out into a quaint private courtyard complete with tables and chairs for outdoor eating. There is also one bed/couch and separate shower room on this level.
The safe box is also alocated at this level.
Stairs from the entrance hallway going up take guests into the double bedroom which features a balcony. The TV + DVD Player together with a DVD Library is also located in the bedroom.

Red Wine Special
Plavac Mali is the most important Croatian autochthonous variety.
Grape has thick skin and firm structure with high sugar ratio. Plavac Mali wine is of ruby colour with blue reflection, well-developed scent, vigorous and sharp tasting with a specific bouquet. The complimentary bottle with two glasses is waiting for you.

We arrived later than expected but I had forewarned the owner 2 days in advanced. They were very positive and very prompt to answer their emails.
We loved the little appartment, it is really picturesque and in the middle of everything. You have a supermarket nearby, church, restaurants and the old town is right beside you.
Iti s a 10 minutes, very nice walk from the bus/ferry station.
The apartment has everything you need: cooker( if u wanna use it on your hols), washing machine, air conditionong upstairs etc...
It is really quiet and safe.
The owners left a complimentary bottle of croatian wine which was very sweet.
Other things that come to my mind is that you have enough sheets, towels etc.
My only complaint, if it is a complaint would be that intead of 1 set of keys it would be better to have 2. We found this limiting, but one adapts.
Overall: a very special place, is like a little gem. we would certainly recommend it.

This is not just one of perfectly located and fully equipped apartments (which it definitely is). Staying there we felt the owner's personal warmth and hospitality rarely found in tourist places.
