This is a small house with only a handful of rooms. You feel more like a house guest than a hostel guest. The four girls who run the place are very, very nice and helpful. Three of them spoke excellent English, while we did a lot of smiling and pointing with the other girl.

Aonikenk has a very friendly and familiar atmosphere, it offers the comfort of its seven rooms, some of them with view to Argentino Lake and a living room to relax, enjoy breakfast; and organize your days in El Calafate.

This is a small house with only a handful of rooms. You feel more like a house guest than a hostel guest. The four girls who run the place are very, very nice and helpful. Three of them spoke excellent English, while we did a lot of smiling and pointing with the other girl. They were super helpful with booking the Todos Glaciares trip, lunch boxes etc. They asked us about breakfast time every day and it was lovely - mixed fruit salad, bread, jam, ham and cheese, fresh coffee. And home made cake as well.
The room was simple, and clean. The bathroom was shared, but impeccably clean. The wifi was good and if it stopped working, the girls would immediately take care of it.
The hostel was just one block of the main Avenida and about 4 blocks along the Avenida to the city centre. There is an excellent restaurant right next to the hostal, and there are many, many other choices a little further along the road. All in all, a very pleasant stay. We would definitely come back.
