This is a Trusted Review. Why?
Although I only stayed at the 680 hotel for three nights I was pleasantly surprised after some other reviews which I had read. Yes, the hotel is not as plush as some of its newer more modern counterparts in Nairobi but there can be no denying the value of its location in the very living heart of the city.
The rooms were clean and the staff I found to be attentive and courteous at all times throughout my stay.
Breakfast is served as a buffet each morning and while not the most ambitious of fare it is still good nourishing food - as can be attested to by the number of business people doing business over the morning meal.
The bar can be a lively place in the evenings, especially with the after-work crowd. It is a lot cheaper than the nearby Stanley or Hilton and in a much more relaxed athmosphere too. Football on TV plays a big part in drawing the crowds to the usually full bar as is the live music.
Overall for the price you can expect a decent standard of budget accommodation but in a central location that is hard to beat.
