This is a Trusted Review. Why?
I had mistakenly booked for March instead of February, but resolved this before Christmas and received a confirmation e-mail. When I arrived the lady at reception told me I had been booked in for 3 days starting in 2 days time. She also mistook the price I had on my e-mail as wrong, assuming it was for A$ not UK£. I had to book other accommodation for the 3 nights at $50 a night more than the Gecko price. When I called back later, the owner apologised and said it was a misunderstanding and refunded my deposit, also it turns out that there was a room available. As for the town itself it is not somewhere to stay unlees, you are driving long distance and need somewhere overnight. The local tourist office seems to be working as a sub office for Airlie Beach as there weren't any local tours available, the only things I found to do were to visit the local Botanic Gardens and Marina
