About Apartments in Vienna
Close to the city centre! The first district is within 5 minutes walking distance. All rooms/apartments have kitchen corners & private facilities. Quiet street. Close to Underground Station.

The house was built in 1805. The rooms and studios are small and simple. They have laminated floors, a small kitchen-corner, shower & toilet.
In the house: Washing machine and dryer. (You need 4x2€-coins). WiFi.
We use only "Green electricity" - water, wind, solar, biomass - energy. We heat with natural gas. Waste is being separated.
Please do not expect parties in the house. It is a quiet house in a quiet, safe area close to the city centre!
There is no reception desk and no staff.The house is accessible only for guests who are having the keys. Contact via phone is not possible, except for SMS!
If you have special requirements regarding general help, special made out invoices for your professional stay, organizational questions, then please do let us know this in detail via email soon after your booking, so that we can handle this. its wise to state this in the header of the email. letting us know such needs upon/after arrival, might be too late!
"Guided arrivals" are possible:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 15:00 p.m. - 19:00 p.m.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday - 09:00 a.m. - 19:00 p.m.
Let us know your time of arrival and we will wait for you at the stipulated time to let you in. Please do call the phone number which is written in the window at Im Werd 5, when you arrive!
"Self entries" are possible:
Everyday: 19:00p.m. - 04:00 a.m.
After the booking please send an email to get explanations on how to enter; provide your valid email address and phone number for sms-receipt, that we can send you instructions on how to get in.
Rooms are ready by 17:00 pm. Before this time you can leave your luggage in the apartment and take the keys. Rooms shall be left by 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure.
No credit cards. Payment is upon arrival, cash €.
Late bookings (if you have booked only 24h prior to arrival) have a fixed time for arrival: We will wait for you at 19:00 pm and you must ring the phone number displayed in the window beside the door at IM WERD 5 at 19:00pm!
Accommodation Information

It is a small hostel with only a few studio apartments/rooms. There is no elevator. It is a very old but typical house. The rooms are small. The kitchen corners are basic: 2 hotplates, fridge, sink, some dishes. The bathrooms are narrow and have a shower and toilet. The beds may be single beds or good double bed sofas. There is no TV in the rooms.
Most of the rooms have free wi-fi.
The single room has also a small kitchen corner and a private shower and toilet, but it is up on the attic and the stairs up there are very high, so it is recommended only for young healthy guests! In summer it might be warm, so there is a good cooling fan. Unfortunately up there is no wi-fi, but there is wi-fi in the sitting-area in the courtyard.
Kitchen equipment: it meets the very basic needs of viennas cooking needs. we do not have any items which might be used in kitchens of other regions. so pleasedo not be upset, wehen you do not find similar items as you use to have at home
Beddings: the same applies to beddings, there is different ways of beddings all over the world, we have vienna style of bedilinen and covers and pillows.

Cancellations shall be made via e-mail to the hostel.
Cancellations can be made up to 1 week prior to arrival. If you cancel later than this we are entitled to charge you for 3 nights. If your reservation is shorter than 3 nights we will charge you for the amount of the booked stay. For no-shows or not staying in the booked accommodation the same applies accordingly. We recommend a holiday-insurance covering cancellation-risk.

Pros:
Location was great, 5 min walking distance to the city centre and the mertro starion. Even when we needed to pick something from our room during sightseeing, a short visit to the apartament didn't cost us much time.
The room was quiet. After locking the door and windows, hardly any sound from oustside could be heard.
The room was spacious and had a separate bathroom and a kitchen corner.
Price was one of the cheapest we could get for the long weekend a few weeks before arrival.
Cons:Our room (twin private) was located on the groundfloor, in a space which looked like an addapted retail space. It made it necessary to keep a roller blind down all the time - otherwise we would look like a display for passers-by. I don't think every room is such, but ours was. If it wasn't for that, my rank would propably be higher than that.
Condition was not ideal - the bed was a bit damaged, and other pieces furniture and overal finnishing of the room had many minor flaws.
Overal:The price was cheap for its location. It is good for people who don't pay much attention to the standard of the room. If You value location and functionality - the place is right for You. If You want to feel comfortibaly and spend some time in Your room other way than sleeping, eating or washing, You may want to consider another option.

The place was good value for money. There was a functioning kitchen with utensils, so we could save on our food expenses. It was spacious enough and had all the basic amenities. The only problems we had were:
1) There were notices advising us not to leave valuable things in the house when we go out. Although there was some arrangement to keep such things in some specified place, we preferred to carry our laptop along with us (which wasn't much fun).
2) Although there were wi-fi signals available everywhere, the wireless network that was present in most of the house was not connected to the internet. Only in one little corner were the weak signals of a wireless network that was connected to the internet available. And it kept getting disconnected intermittently.
3) The taps in the bathroom worked in binary mode: either you get hot water or cold water. It was not easy to adjust the water to any temperature that we wanted. But still it was not a big problem.But everything considered, this place is still very good value for your money.

Good value for money. The apartments are basic but clean and only a 10 minute walk from the city centre old town. Clean towels, well-heated rooms, not the most comfortable bed but what you'd expext for the price! The radio/CD player provided is a nice touch.
There are metro and tram stops nearby and the apartments are conveniently located for the CAT train to take you to the airport - the CAT is only a couple of metro stops away.
