There are a total of 33 rooms in the hotel. Most of them have been newly renovated. We'll be happy to help you with questions on Santa Cruz, places to visit, and maybe even a little bit of history. The hotel is owned and ran by my grandma, Consuelo Parada, who is a native of Santa Cruz and will can take you through 7 decades of amazing history... the first paved roads, the economic growth of the city, the massive population growth (mainly driven by immigration), and of course the Carnival!
So, come & enjoy your time with us. Breakfast is yummy... fresh orange juice, a nice "pan Frances," coffee w/ milk, marmales & butter, and you'll be on your way to discovering Santa Cruz de la Sierra!

This is a Trusted Review. Why?
5th of June 2011 - For the price it was fine. TV and my room had airconditioning, I did not see any other airconditioners located in the other rooms. It is nice and close to the city plaza. However there is not a lot to do in Santa Cruz. So not much point in staying for a long time.
I had booked to stay in this hotel Italia 12 nights I stayed 2. Firstly there was not enough to do in Santa Cruz to warrant that length of stay, had there been, I would have moved hotels. The first room they put me in was so noisy, I asked to be moved after 3 hours. The hotel has seen better days and I felt the staff were making the best of a bad job. It is certainly central to everything one wants to see in the historic centre, but aside from this, as a budget hotel it is at the low end.
Cheap and cheerful would have been fine, it was cheap, grubby and the staff were not cheerful.
