------Why stay at Wicked Hostels-----
Well, we are a backpacker-owned hostel run entirely by backpackers. We've been in your shoes and we've tried to make our hostel match and exceed the best amenities we've seen. When you arrive, our friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff can assist you with all your travel needs. We can help you find what you are looking for in Calgary, make suggestions on great places to visit here and even help you with your forward travel plans to other regions. There is no curfew; we're not here to tell you when you can have a good time. We do ask that people are courteous and quiet after 12:00am, so that anyone wanting to can get a good night's rest, but if you decide you want to hang-out in the common room at
night or cook a midnight snack you can go right ahead. We have free internet computers and free WIFI throughout the building, so keeping in touch is easy and affordable! One thing you won't find here is a T.V. Instead, you will find a friendly, comfortable common room with cozy leather couches, board games, playing cards, an iPod dock and lots of other interesting backpackers. We also do 'I've-Hit-The-Wall' movie nights (projected on the wall) when you just want to relax after a hectic weekend of partying.
We also have a free continental breakfast every morning; free tea and coffee all the time; free bed linen (we even make your bed up for you before you arrive!). And guess what, we have free parking too, something very tough to find and also very expensive anywhere in the Calgary City Center. We also provide planned activities like group skating or tobogganing in the winter or *floats* down the Elbow River and free BBQ's in the summer. Sometimes, we do a free communal supper for everyone!
For security we have CCTV cameras throughout the common areas and corridors as well as keypad-locked front door (locked between midnight and 8am).
Stampede Packages: Stampede bookings can be made by calling Wicked Hostel directly. Due to our location (across the street from Stampede), our beds are fill up very fast. So book in advance if you are planning on staying in Calgary during Stampede.
Cancellations must be made 24 hours before your scheduled arrival to avoid any charges. During the Stampede (July 4-13, 2014), 7 days cancellation notice is required.
So if you are the kind of person who wants to make the most of their stay in Calgary and are looking to stay in the newest hostel with the best location and staff that really understand the needs of backpackers, please check us out.
Look forward to having you with us -- Jeff
We require a security deposit for group bookings of 5 or more and will not accept anyone without government issued out-of-province/out-of-country ID, without luggage/backpacks, student groups, stag/stagette parties and guests under the age of 18.

shoes off at the door? yes! sign up implying that people who leave dishes unwashed will be shot? yes! fried food ban? yes! free laundry? yes! only downside is that the outrageously reasonable price seems to attract a lot of people with absolutely atrocious personal hygiene.
about 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of town, or right next to a C train stop which will get you there in about the same time (providing you'll probably have to wait for the thing for a few minutes).

very nice place with awesome people!

Our stay was fun. The room was rather tiny (just about enough room for a double bed) and unfortunately had no room for our luggage, no hooks for coats etc. However the bed was very comfortable, and we hardly spent any time there anyway. About a 15 minute walk into downtown. Good free breakfast, and wireless internet always a bonus!
Very good location, nice people and very laid back.
However, rooms are tiny and a little unkept!
