Hotel-Pension Schmellergarten was a great place to stay during my time in Munich. I've been travelling for two months and certain things are very important in making a stay at an accommodation welcoming: cleanliness, safety, coziness, and reception.

Hotel-Pension Schmellergarten was a great place to stay during my time in Munich. I've been travelling for two months and certain things are very important in making a stay at an accommodation welcoming: cleanliness, safety, coziness, and reception. Schmellergarten succeeded in all of these categories. The woman running reception (I don't have her name, unfortunately) was so kind and welcoming and really helped to make my stay feel like home. The rooms were comfortable and the facility as a whole felt very safe (an important fact since I'm a young woman travelling alone). Also, the breakfast offered was one of the best selections I experienced during my entire trip throughout Europe. I'm a vegetarian and found plenty of options to keep me full throughout most of the day.
The hotel-pension was a wonderful value for what I paid. I'd definitely recommend it to fellow travelers and would stay there again.
The only minor complaint was the church bells nearby on certain mornings, but that truly wasn't any fault of the hotel. Also wifi did not work in all of the rooms on both floors, but that seemed to happen in a lot of the accommodations I stayed at.

It exudes a home-y atmosphere. Really cool. And transport to and from the place is easy. The hotel is also very clean. Staff was friendly.
I suggest they include an English news channel on TV. To make us in touch with the world. I suggest too that environment protection reminders be posted in the room.
