Blago Apartment, Dubrovnik, Croatia

We are a family of three and we booked the Blago Apartment for 4 nights. Not only was the apartment spacious, it was also adorably decorated and spotlessly clean. In addition, everything you could need for a stay in Dubrovnik was there: air conditioner, space heater, dishes, washing machine, extra blankets, etc. Two of us slept on single beds and another of us slept comfortably on a pullout sofa. The hosts were really charming. Not only did one of them meet us late at night to exchange keys after we arrived on an evening flight, he also gave us a welcome gift. In addition, after a mix-up with a tour guide a couple of days later, the hosts called to check up and make sure that we had gotten things figured out. We felt that we got really good value for what we paid, especially considering how centrally located we were--mere steps from the Placa. Lastly, the real highlight for us was staying in the old town itself: the narrow streets, the adorable pizzeria right downstairs, the centuries-old door to the apartment and our window looking across the way. If you truly want a slice of old town Dubrovnik, we wholeheartedly recommend this apartment! It may be quirkier than a hotel, but it's far more authentic and charming. One small thing is that the hot water supply is a bit low, but not something that bothered us overmuch.

My boyfriend and I had a great start to our holiday in Croatia at the Blago apartment. Just off the hustle and bustle of the Stradun, this was a fantastic location. The host family were lovely and went through the local sites and attractions for us and recommended places for us to visit. The apartment itself is a great size for two, but there was also a double sofa bed for an extra two people. The air con was great and bearing in mind it was mid August when we were there, we only needed it on an hour a day. The stairs up to the apartment were a bit tricky if you have a big suitcase but once you are up in the apartment you cannot hear any of the noise from the streets below which are always buzzing with tourists. The kitchen was basic but fine if you were preparing breakfast and light snacks. There are plently of reasonable pizzerias just on the door step.

I would highly recommend staying here as you are really in the thick of it!
