The location can't be faulted. The facilities were fine and the restaurant did good work. I think the staff should cheer up a bit - the only smile I got the entire time was from the girl looking after the restaurant/bar.
I had a private double, but it wasn't very pleasant - it was a bit cramped and dark. The ensuite was also very tight and not in very good repair. There was a persistent drip from the ceiling right beside the toilet, and the fuse blew when I turned the light on.
Overall, it's acceptable, but there are plenty of the same standard.

This was a great place to stay. The location was excellent with some great sights right on the doorstep - Lama Temple, Confucious Temple and Prince Gong's Garden. The Metro very close providing easy access to all the other major destinations around Beijing. Located in a hutong, it was surrounded by lots of shops selling Buddhist paraphernalia, an excellent vegetarian restaurant, a fabulous steamed bun stall and a supermarket all in easy reach stall, which makes for a great atmosphere. Staff were friendly, really helpful with information and quick and efficient when it came to travel bookings. Highly recommended and excellent value.
