I had booked 12 days at the Beijing CityStar Hotel through HostelBookers in July 2011 while in Beijing for research/work. Upon arrival, Beijing CityStar Hotel was unable to find my reservation, despite the fact that I'd received a confirmation e-mail from HostelBookers about my reservation. The room that I had reserved was unavailable.
While sitting at the reception desk and checking in, my suitcase was stolen while it was directly behind my seat. I turned around and found that it was no longer there. When I told the reception staff, they were unconcerned and told me to wait. After yelling that it was an emergency, that my suitcase had been stolen, they listened and tried to track it down. Fortunately they were able to track it down, the thief had not gone far away.
But as a result of these two incidents, I refused to stay here. My recommendation, after my experiences, is that this place is AWFUL. I would suggest that anyone who has any standards of decency think twice before putting their money into staying here. I have yet to receive my refund from Beijing CityStar Hotel.

I am currently staying in the hotel. We have lost the deposit we paid to you because they claim the middle person (you) did not give the money. We are lucky to have a person in the grorup that speaks Chinese because English is realy problematic.
