Acorn Guest House is a family-run business and so we have the advantage of being able to offer a very personal service. We enjoy talking to our guests about their interests and

helping to make their stay in Cambridge a time to remember.

We have 17 tastefully decorated bedrooms, all of which are en-suite. Our rooms are bright and airy and offer both modern and traditional furnishings. All are fully equipped with color TV, complimentary tea/coffee making facilities and direct dial telephone. A hairdryer and iron and board are available upon request. Free secured Wi Fi is available throughout the guest house.

We have four different room types:

Single:

Containing 1 single bed, this is ideal for the business traveler.

Twin:

With two single beds, this room type is ideal for either double occupancy.

Double:

Offering a double or king-size bed and being en-suite, like all our rooms, this offers the ultimate in luxury.

Family:

Offering a double bed and a single to accommodate a couple with a child.

Family:

Offering a double bed and an adult bunk bed to accommodate a couple with two children.

Most of our rooms are situated in the main house, and some in our annexe house just one minute walk across the road. Breakfast is served in the main house.

We welcome groups of up to 40 people; please contact the Hostelbookers groups department via the link on the home page!

Please note: A minimum of 72 hours notice prior to arrival is required when cancelling a booking. Four weeks for group bookings. Late cancellations and premature departures (regardless of reason) will be charged in full.

By road

Cambridge is well served by local and national road networks. From London or Stansted Airport, the M11 provides the most direct route. From the north the A14 brings traffic from the A1(M) to the north of Cambridge. The west and east are served by the A14 running from near Birmingham to Felixstowe. It is easist to join the A14 and turn off at the Milton exit (near the Science park). Follow the road towards the city centre until you come to a roundabout (about 1 mile from the A14), turn left and then right at the next roundabout. We are just on the left.

By train

Getting to and from London is straightforward. Direct trains to Liverpool Street and Kings Cross are frequent from Cambridge and take about 1 hour. It is also simple to get to and from Stansted Airport.

There are some direct trains from Manchester and Birmingham; these are cross country and can be slow. From the north, you will need to change at Peterborough and probably Ely.
