Also popular with artists, musicians, poets, writers and photographers.

Sparrowhawk is a small, friendly, relaxed and charming hostel, more home stay than hotel, (don't expect a reception desk), with bunk house accommodation in a beautifully converted stone stable and also offers a double room, a sunny courtyard. Often muddy hiking boots and bikes around. The kitchen is fully equipped, including free tea/ coffee/jam. Also bar-b-q in the courtyard.

Dartmoor's ancient archaeological sites, dating back to the Bronze Age, include mystical stone circles, standing stones, burial sites and dwellings. Books, maps and info are here for you at the hostel and a Tourist Info. Centre 2min. walk.

We are 14 miles west of Exeter, the nearest city, (frequent direct bus, 359 Exeter to Moretonhampstead), and about 30 miles from Plymouth. Click on the "getting there" link for maps and directions.
