About Tangara Guest House
Tangara is a hostal with comfortable rooms, plants surrounding the house and artwork around the place; an oasis-like experience in the middle of bustling Guayaquil.Safe, friendly and relaxed atmosphere; Tangara is located in a house of the sixties, in a residential neighborhood of northern Guayaquil. Rather than staying in a hotel, you will feel at home and close to the local life. A school, a church and the main university in the city are our closest neighbours. Being close to the airport we should expect, eventually, the noise of planes over the neighborhood.Guests share the living room and the dining room and have free access to the kitchen and a pleasant garden, which offers the chance of watching many local plants and bird species. The staff dining room. Free travel advice by the in-house travel agency that offers mainly communitary and nature tours to the ecuadorian Amazonia, andean highlands, Galapagos islands and the coastline.Our rates include breakfast (between 07h45 and 10h30), unlimited internet and WiFi area, local and national telephone calls. Airport pick up is available for an extra charge of usd 15 per room . Important: Balance due on arrival should be paid in cash (sorry, not credit card or traveler checks) and 12% tax should be added.Our five rooms have private bathroom, hot water shower, national direct dial telephone, air conditioning and cable TV. Double rooms have one double bed or two twins, triple rooms have one double and one single bed.

We found Tangara House to be exactly as described - an oasis in the middle of Guayaquil. Antonio and Lucia are fantastic. They are both warm and generous people who helped us with local sight seeing and also with the rest of our travel plans around Ecuador. We came to Ecuador mainly to see the Galapogas (which Antonio, very patiently helped arrange) and having now visted other cities have really loved our stay and come to love Ecuador - it's a beautiful country. We are returning to stay at Tangara after our Galapogas and Cuenca travels.
What can I say. This house is a little taste of heaven in the midst of Guayaquil. I cannot recall in the past ten years of travel ever meeting more helpful, courteous, and generous people. Antonio, his sister and Johnny made this stay more than excellent. If you are looking for five star American do not book. This is better. The rooms are not large but more than spacious enough for two people. Air conditioner was the biggest asset in this city. Bathrooms were very clean. Great internet service. Would I stay again? I already did. On my way back to Guayaquil from Cuenca, I needed a room for one night and there was no doubt in my mind to book here again. I was even treated to pick up service from Antonio from the bus depot. And the best part of that is it was his pleasure and his suggestion to pick me up. I was made to feel so special. Again guys Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness. When i return to your great country, I will for sure call and be your guest.
