the location is good,I missed only restaurants close by.

Chicago Hostel is well located between the Old Town and La Mariscal since 2003. Our neighborhood is a traditional one and kind of quiet but there are restaurants, grocery shops, internet cafes, etc for your comfort.

This is a hostel operated by its owners, we are not a party place but this is a place to get rest, make our hostel like your base in Ecuador after your tours around our country or only for visiting what heritage of Quito has to offer. We make your stay easy; we provide you all the facilities you need in one place, from something as simple as a laundry service to something more complicated as organizing a tour to the Galapagos Islands.

We are within walking distance of most cultural attractions of Quito. From the hostel you can start the walking tour suggested by Lonely Planet guide book and visit the most interesting points such as: Plaza Grande, El Panecillo, Government Palace, La Compañia church, San Francisco Monastery and plaza, Museo de la Ciudad, Santo Domingo church and plaza, Basilica church, Plaza San Blas, Alameda park and Quito Observatory, El Ejido park and Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana, Itchimbia park, La ronda (Quito's oldest streets which is full of history and legends where you can enjoy the best Quiteños gastronomy and drinks). Only to 25 minutes walk or 5 minutes by taxi you can get to La Mariscal and its plaza Foch, where you can have fun and enjoy the cafes, outdoor restaurants and bars. To 5 minutes walking distance are the main buses stops such as Ecovia, Trolebus and Metrobus which make you easy to get to La Mitad del Mundo, Airport, Terminales Terrestres and other different points of Quito. We are a few minutes away to the Teleférico where you can take the cable car to go to the top of the Pichincha volcano located at 4800 meters, where is the greatest place to see Quito and its surroundings.

We have some traffic and street noise, most people doesn´t worry but light sleepers may want to bring earplugs or ask for the rooms in the back of the hostel.

*****Chicago Hostel Cancellation Policy *****

Customers can cancel their reservations free of charge up to 3 days before arrival, after this date, charges will be applied up to the full cost of the reservation. Cancellations or changes of dates must be done to our email from 08h00 to 22h00 (Ecuadorian time).

Chicago Hostel is not responsible for changes or delays in itinerary of national or international airlines which may affect the operation of the confirmed service, in that case, charges will be applied up to the full cost of the reservation.

Deposit paid are non refundable (deposits belongs to the booking systems not to our hostel).

Conditions

* Regular Check-In is from 2pm.
From 2pm to 11:59pm is a regular Check-In
From 0:00 am to 5:59am, a 100% charge will be included automatically in your room\'s bill and the Check-Out for this period is at 11am of the same day.
* Early Check-In
From 6am to 1:59pm of the same day, there is an extra charge of 50% in the cost of the room for this period of time and it will be included automatically in your room\'s bill. At 2pm of the same day starts a new period of stay. Check-Out time is until 11 in the morning.
* If your transportation arrives to Quito before 6am, be sure to make a reservation for the night before.
*If you will arrive before 2pm., you are able to use our luggage storage until the Check-In time.
*We do not have 24 hours reception, our schedule is from 8 am to 10 pm. but the Check-In is 24/7.
*Children under 12 years old pay USD 6.00 (per kit per night) sharing room with 2 adults.
*All payments have to be in advance. You will be responsible to our facility for the payment of the balance specified in your reservation (90%) in the time you make the Check-In
*The value of the deposit and service charge are not refundable or transferable.
*In case of no show, the total value payable upon arrival to our facility will be charged to your credit card.
*In case of no show on the first night of your reservation you will automatically lose the remaining days reserved.
*The deposit and service charge for the reservation are not refundable or transferable in case of cancellation or modification.
*The customer can cancel (by email) until three days prior to supposed arrival, to avoid having to pay the entire reservation as a No Show
*We accept changes in arrival date only from 72 hours in advance.
*You must confirm your reservation 24 hours before your arrival date.
*Please note, the arrival time specified in the booking is the time limit which you can get in, if you don´t show up at the time indicated on the reservation, we shall to enable the room or bed to other guests and there will a charge to your credit card for NO SHOW. If you have any change in arrival time please send us an email indicating the new arrival time.
*And remember that the total amount you paid over the Internet (10% deposit plus USD2 service) is charged by Hostelworld.com only. Our establishment does not get any value for this payment.
* Chicago hostel is a business founded, owned and run by an Ecuadorian family, this means we pay to Hostelworld.com 10% of every online reservation made to our place and with this payment our hostel will be included in the hostels's list of Hostelworld.com
