The hotel room is a little small, but clean. The service was good, except that the taxi that was supposed to be waiting for me at the airport was not there - I took a bus to the city instead. The location is superb, overlooking the Santo Domingo Plaza, and the breakfast was abundant and very complete. Service was good in general.

This hotel is very nice, moderately priced and a good value. I was traveling with two young children (ages 7 and 6) and the location worked out great for us. The hotel is less than half a block from the Plaza de Santo Domingo and we had a great view of the church from our room. It is a short walk to many other places of interest in the Centro (old section of Quito) and for longer distances, it was easy to hail a cheap taxi.
The staff is friendly and I felt that they really cared about our experience. The dining room upstairs was wonderful, with a panoramic view. The complimentary breakfast included fresh juices, eggs and bread with butter & marmelade.
Another thing I like about this hotel is that they had plenty of offers for day tours in the lobby and brochures about places to go around Quito and Ecuador. There was complimentary coffee offered in the lobby as well as 2 computers for internet use.
In short, if we travel to Quito again, I wouldn't stay anyplace else.

Not a great breakfast, but good views over the plaza from the restaurant, reasonable, cheap food and large, slightly dated rooms.

restaurant at the 3th floor serves good food but is closing at 21.00hrs.
you get also a voucher for discount entrance at several museums in Quito.
friendly staff.Have been at Real Audiencia in Oct.08 again and in Feb/March 09.
I use also always the pick up service from and to the airport.
