Nice little hotel on the main road of Newport.
Newport is a nice little town too. We had our first clam chowder there, down by the fishing port.
Note that the band of fog along the seaboard can make the town a lot cooler than other places on the coast.

About Gateway Inn
The Gateway Inn is situated near all major San Francisco attractions and is less than 15 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 making it the perfect pace to stay when visiting San Francisco.
The Gateway Inn offers both smoking and non-smoking guest rooms that are both comfortable and clean. All 36 rooms feature an extended stay facility and come equipped with direct dial telephones with data ports and remote controlled color television with free cable with HBO.
