Set in the heart of the English Lake District yet 2 minutes walk from the bus and train station. The base for whole range of activities from fell walking, mountain-biking, sailing, canoeing, abseiling to vistiting museums and homes of famous writers like Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth.
Local bus trips give tours of the lakes and valleys. The family run hostel offers you every comfort in small dorms, friendly common room packed with leaflets on what to do and a self catering kitchen. We are situated close to local pubs, shops and supermarket, so you can soak up the atmosphere. Good stop over point before hitting the night life
of Edinburgh or York. Look forward to welcoming you! Self catering kitchen, sky tv and internet access, cosy lounge with fire, lockers, hot showers, outside seating area.
**Please note the following: As our reception is not always manned we will email to you the key code for the front door once the booking is confirmed. We also have an arrivals list and explanatory notices about how the hostel works etc in the kitchen.**

**NB Payment must be made in cash on arrival as we do not have a credit card machine on our premises. We run an honesty system for payment and ask you to put your fee into an envelope provided and post into the safe the lounge. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THE CLEANER OR ANYONE ELSE!!!!!!

IF YOU ARE COMING BY CAR THERE IS NO PARKING IN FRONT OF THE HOSTEL ( this belongs to local residents and they will clamp your car!) There is parking on the road and in a public car park 5 mins walk from hostel

Directions
Turn left out of Windermere train station and within two minutes you will
see the hostel,accross from the information centre between Open Door Properties and the Lamplighter bar.
