The hotel itself was okay, but not the best (whilst it's right next to the train station, it's also next to a really busy, noisy road). I stayed in a shared dorm - as a lone girl - with quite a few significantly older men, one of whom was quite aggressive.

The Antigallican, set in a beautiful historical building, is only a few minutes away from The O2 Arena (Millennium Dome) . We are the ideal location for anyone going to one of the fantastic gigs at The O2.
We are also conveniently located close to historical Greenwich Village(15 minutes by bus) where you can visit the Royal Observatory and Maritime Museum. The forthcoming 2012 Olympic Village is not very far either and Thames Barrier is only 5 minutes walk from us.
Direct trains from Charlton station (30 seconds walk away from the Hotel) will bring you to London Bridge in 15 minutes (one of the main stations in London) or to Charring Cross (a good station for quick access to Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Soho, …) in less than 30 minutes.
We have excellent facilities including a fully equipped kitchen and common room. There is free Wi-fi Internet throughout the building and much more…). The hotel is very clean and the majority of our rooms are en-suite.
Our staff are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable and will make sure that your visit to London is a memorable one.
On the ground floor of the building you will find The Antigallican Pub, a traditional English pub with a big screen for all of you who want to follow the latest sport and of course to encourage the famous Charlton football team!
Starting at late afternoon pub serves fresh home made food for the ones fancy to try English kitchen! And we also recommend a pint of local beer or cider afterward for a good end of the evening!

Cancellation Policy: We require 48 hour notice prior to 11am of the arrival date if you wish to cancel a reservation. If you fail to comply with our cancellation requirements, you will be charged in full for the first night! The same 48 hour notice is required in case of booking modifications.
NO SHOW will also be charged for the first night!
Check-out is 11 am!
Check-in can be done at any time of the arrival date but rooms might not be available until 2pm!
A deposit of £10.00 (refundable at check-out) or a photo id will be required as a key deposit at check-in!
No pets allowed!

To be fair, with shared dorms it's kind of luck of the draw, and the staff were really nice and helpful when I told them; they immediately switched me into a different - better - room, but it kind of ruined my perception of the hotel. Aside from the scary resident, it was "you get what you pay for" really: basic, cheap, clean etc.

The most basic of basic.For what you pay,the room is fine.We got the triple room.Bad comments-1 very flat pillow on each bed,shower with no shower gel or shampoo etc provided so bring your own,we arrived quarter of an hour early(you cant check in until 2)and they wouldnt let us into the room until 2:30,so we had to wait for 45 mins while they tidied our room.This is ridiculous really as check out is at 11 so whoever was in their before us had to have gone then.
Only positive thing was that we had tickets to the NTAs at the O2 and its only a 10 min bus ride from there and the bus stop is only 2 minsup the road.
