Grimston House is an attractive dwelling built in the nineteen thirties, standing in beautiful gardens within the village of Deighton. The house, run by Pat Wright and a little help from husband Alan at the weekend, offers comfortable and spacious accommodation within easy reach of York. The first impression is of light and space and a friendly ambience which becomes more apparent when you realise how friendly it is. There are six large well furnished bedrooms, one with a four poster bed. All rooms have views of the garden, en-suite bathrooms, colour T.V. and beverage making facilities.
The dining room where breakfast is served looks out onto the garden and is a wonderful peaceful way to start the day. We offer Continental or full Yorkshire breakfast, using locally sourced produce freshly prepared to your order. Although no evening meals are served the White Swan pub is two minutes walk away and serves excellent food in the bar and restaurant. Also in Escrick (1/2 mile away) the Black Bull pub and Thai restaurant offering a wide selection of food to meet all tastes.
Grimston House offers safe private parking and is conveniently located for anyone wanting to enjoy the magnificence of York and its glorious Minster. It is a city full of history with fascinating streets and a plethora of shops, museums and galleries. The river Ouse winds its way through the city and many visitors find that a boat trip provides them with a different view of this splendid city. From Grimston House you can go fishing, enjoy horseback riding and play golf all within a few miles. There are also some delightful walks in the countryside and we are a good base for those who wish to explore the North Yorkshire Moors. MacArthur Glen Designer shopping outlet is two miles away next to the Park and Ride.
