good stay, nice people and great location. not fancy or particularly clean, especially the shared bathrooms, but can't really complain with the price.

The hostal was very friendly but extremely badly run. We had booked a twin room, but they gave us a double and we had to hang around till they could change it. They had also mislaid the keys, which involved further hanging around. There were only 2 showers and toilets, and when the hostal was full, they took in other guests to sleep in the lounge. The kitchen did not open till 9 am officially, and even then they sometimes overslept and it was not opened up till 10am. We had specifically chosen this hostal because it had air conditioning, but this was centrally controlled, and sometimes they forgot to turn it on at night
Ofer the manager makes this place a very relaxing and friendly place to enjoy like home. He tries hard to make every one a comfortable stay in Barcelona. Different from other hostel, he is more of a friend to you, not a just a hostel manager. Moreover, the location is great, right down in the center of city, a few blocks away from each famous tourist attraction. I definiely recommend this hostel to every one who plans a visit to Barcelona. But bear in mind, one shall take metro station to Liceu, not catalunya. The hostel is just right next to, or across from the metro station Liceu.

From Barcelona airport you take the Air bus out of the terminal and get off in the last stop (Placa catalunya) and from there walk for 3 minutes on the Rambla St. until you reach to 75, Rambla St. buzz on the first interphone button (Casa Juan).
From Girona airport take the Barcelona Bus Estacion Nord. take the metro Line 1 ( Red line) to Catalunya(Placa Catalunya) and from there walk for 3 minutes on the Rambla St. until you reach to 75, La Rambla St. buzz on the first interphone button (Casa Juan)
By Train/Bus: Sants Estacion or Passege de Gracia (from Passege de Gracia you can walk for 15 minutes till 75, Rambla St. buzz on the first interphone button (Casa Juan) you take the metro Line 3 (Green line) to Catalunya (Placa Catalunya) and from there walk for 3 minutes on the La Rambla St. until you reach to 75, Rambla St. buzz on the first interphone button (Casa Juan).
